That was brilliant from Aleksandar Mitrovic. He gets himself in a position where he would be second favourite to get it on target and he hits the post. That is great play indeed.

The Fulham striker plays a one-two with Dusan Tadic to find space on the right of the penalty area. He then cuts back onto his left foot and curls in a thumping effort that smacks off the far post.

Very intriguing that the first three touches from Devis Epassy he has just lumped it up the field. Beforehand we noticed that Cameroon used to play out from the back. He must have just been told to lump it up Eric Choupo-Moting as soon as possible.

Early chance for Serbia and no surprise it is Aleksandar Mitrovic on the end of it.

Andrija Zivkovic crosses from the right and finds the Fulham striker unmarked, but his header loops over the bar.

Devis Epassy will know that everyone is looking at him so if he makes a mistake it will absolutely rebound back onto the manager.

And he is. There's huge cheers from the Serbia fans as Aleksandar Mitrovic runs back onto the pitch.

Ooh, that looks a painful one.

Just seconds into the game Aleksandar Mitrovic lands awkwardly following an aerial challenge and looks to have rolled his ankle.

The physios come on to take a look, but it looks like he will be ok.

Away we go...

The two national anthems were passionately belted out with gusto.

This is a huge game for both sides with their World Cup futures on the line.

After watching Serbia against Brazil I am not very impressed by Statman Dave's leftfield pick for Serbia to win the World Cup.

I don't think they will beat a pretty average Cameroon side either.

Prediction: 1-1

• Serbia have lost both of their previous World Cup games against African sides, doing so against Ivory Coast in 2006 (2-3) and Ghana in 2010 (0-1).
• Cameroon have lost their last eight matches at the World Cup, with those defeats coming across four tournaments (2002, 2010, 2014 and 2022). Defeat against Serbia would equal the longest-ever losing run by a nation at the World Cup, set by Mexico between 1930 and 1958 (Nine in a row).
• Serbia have conceded in eight of their 10 games at the World Cup, shipping at least two goals in six of those games. However, they have won both games in which they've managed to keep a clean sheet.
• Cameroon have won just one of their 15 World Cup matches against European opponents (Drawn five, lost nine), a 2-1 win over Romania in 1990. They are winless in 12 games since (Drawn three, lost nine).

Serbia are bottom of the group after a 2-0 loss to pre-tournament favourites Brazil, while Cameroon's 1-0 defeat by Switzerland means the African side are still seeking their first victory at a World Cup finals since 2002.

A loss for either team, combined with a draw between Brazil and Switzerland later on Monday (16:00 GMT), would see them exit the tournament with a match remaining.

Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has been left out of the country’s crucial world cup match against Serbia.

Reports from the camp indicate the Inter Milan player has been sanctioned for disciplinary reason but no details have been released yet.

Onana has been the country’s first choice goalkeeper since 2019 after choosing not to play for the country in the African cup of nations winning campaign in 2017.

Four more games coming your way today, including five-time winners Brazil and Euro 2016 winners Portugal.

The final round of matches begin tomorrow, with the two matches in each group kicking off at the same time.

That means today is the last day to feature four games back-to-back.

Onana was not reported to be injured in the build-up to this game but does not appear to be on the bench either. We will bring you any updates on that as soon as we have them.
