Switzerland failed to score in a game against Brazil for the first time since December 1980 (a 2-0 loss in a friendly) having scored exactly one goal in each of their previous six matches against them before today.

Switzerland have won just one of their nine World Cup games against South American sides (D2 L6), beating Ecuador 2-1 in 2014 in Brazil.

Casemiro’s goal was Brazil’s latest ever winner in a World Cup game they’ve won 1-0.

Brazil are the first team to not face a shot on target in their opening two games at a World Cup since eventual winners France in 1998.

I think they'll be delighted. The Swiss gave them much more to think about than Serbia. There were one or two moments of panic in the Brazil defence but they don't really look like conceding and it was terrific for them to have to answer questions in this game.

Brazil keeper Alisson hasn't had to make a save at this World Cup yet. The 11 shots from Switzerland and Serbia have all been off target or blocked.

Relief is the over-riding emotion at the final whistle for Brazil - their match-winner - the so-called 'Invisible Man' - Casemiro got plenty of hugs from his team-mates at the final whistle... before they all went over for a jig of delight with their fans.

That win takes Brazil through with a game to spare.

Switzerland need to beat Serbia on Friday (19:00 GMT) to be sure of a place in the last 16. A draw would be enough if Cameroon don't beat Brazil at the same time.
