    Portugal coach Fernando Santos then praised the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo.

    “He is one of the best players in the world, one of the finest goalscorers of all time,” Santos told a press conference. “His achievements, one of the best players of the world, one of the best players ever.

    “Cristiano is a phenomenal legend, like many others have come and gone. In 50 years’ time we will continue to talk about him.

    “We talk about Pele and Maradona who played 50 years ago and so I think we will continue to speak about Ronaldo like the other players I speak about.”

    Portugal boss Fernando Santos has named three changes following his side's opening 3-2 win over Ghana.

    Nuno Mendes, Pepe and William Carvalho come in for Otavio, Raphael Guerreiro and Danilo Pereira, who fractured his ribs in training this week.

    Portugal XI: Costa, Cancelo, Dias, Pepe, Mendes, Silva, Neves, Carvalho, Fernandes, Ronaldo, Felix.

    Uruguay XI

    There are also three changes for Uruguay meanwhile, after Diego Alonso's men were held to a goalless draw by South Korea.

    Edinson Cavani joins the attack while Sebastian Coates and Guillermo Varela also start as Luis Suarez, Martin Caceres and Facundo Pellistri drop to the bench.
