    France 1-0 Poland

Poland have a chance to level as Matty Cash finds Jakub Kaminski, but his shot is blocked and hits the side-netting.

From the corner Hugo Lloris drops a cross onto a Polish player's head and just gets away with it.

Olivier Giroud does that so well, he just knows when to go, the weight of the pass is good he leaves lots of space.

    Giroud is a record holder.

Lovely finish. That's why they love him so much in the squad because he makes intelligent runs and he gives them that option of popping it into play.

    Olivier Giroud

    The record goal!

Olivier Giroud becomes France's top scorer of all time with goal number 52 for Les Bleus.

Kylian Mbappe plays the ball into the AC Milan striker, who gets away from his defender, takes a touch to steady himself and then slots the ball into the far bottom corner. A bit of a bouncer.

Theo Hernandez lofts in a cross for France but it's over everyone. Poor. They've got worse as the half has gone on.

Josh: Poland definitely aren't playing for a 0-0 then penalties! Cracking game so far!

Very weird. A friend texted me earlier to ask why Jules Kounde was wearing a chain. I didn't have the answer - and it's obvious the officials had just missed it, because they've just made him take it off.

    France 0-0 Poland

Poland have had seven shots so far - more than they had in the first halves of all three of their group games combined (six).

A quiet game for Olivier Giroud so far. He's the only player to have had fewer than 10 touches of the ball.

Poland's Jakub Kiwior has been the busiest player on the pitch with 48 touches.

I’ve no connection to Villa or in any other way whatsoever so I can say without bias I think Cash has been superb thus far. Szczesny looks miles above the memories I have of him too.

Grzegorz Krychowiak catches Kylian Mbappe, who spins past him so easily, and it's a free-kick to France.

Piotr Zielinski has got to score.

He should bury the first effort. It's an easy opportunity. Anywhere to the side. He had time to pick his spot. Hugo Lloris stands big but he shouldn't have been given the opportunity.

Are Poland going to get any better chances than that?

It's an amazing save - Hugo Lloris just stood firm and big and strong. He made sure that ball wasn't going past him.

Three Poland chances in a couple of seconds!

Piotr Zielinski is picked out in space in the box but his shot is saved by Hugo Lloris. Zielinski's rebound hits Theo Hernandez and Jakub Kaminski's follow-up is blocked too.

That first one was a huge opportunity.

From the corner, Olivier Giroud hooks a sort of bicycle kick back into the mixer and Dayot Upamecano and Wojciech Szczesny clatter into each other while going for the ball. Everyone is fine and there's no penalty shouts or cards or anything. They just got back on with it.

Wojciech Szczesny has had a couple of routine saves. There's been nothing really clear-cut for the French so far.

The issue France have is that Antoine Griezmann doesn't press.

  19. Postpublished at 34 mins

Piotr Zielinski finds Matty Cash in space out on the right. The Aston Villa right-back, outside the box and at an angle, just decides to smack it first time and it goes well wide. It was ambitious, I'll say that.
