One of the big things I would like to see with Croatia in extra time is getting Luka Modric a little bit higher up the pitch. He spent the second half playing at right back. He is the most special player on that pitch right now and he has the keys to unlock that defence or do something special.

Croatia have the best 100% record in the World Cup in games that have gone to extra time - with all three in 2018.

Japan, meanwhile, have another corner.

Japan will need to raise their level. They were a bit laboured and didn't look like they wanted to get over the halfway line and put this Croatia team under pressure.

They had no spark in the second half and to get through this next period they need to change their game plan.

All of Croatia's knockout games - bar the final - at the 2018 World Cup went to extra time, and they progressed in all three.
