    Netherlands 0-0 Argentina

Argentina have been marginally the more proactive team so far. Hardly surprising. That has tended to be the way in games involving the Dutch, who come to life after a transition and with an opponent overcommitted.

Oof. Talk about taking a risk!

Andries Noppert looks to pass out from the back with Julian Alvarez hunting him. He only just manages to sneak the ball through.

It really is just a tiny little pocket of Dutch fans in the stands here. Usually, there is a sea of orange-clad fans for Netherlands World Cup games.

It is all very sedate at the moment on the pitch. Patience the key word.

Denzel Dumfries is a real talent who will raid down that right-hand side for the Netherlands.

I was a bit surprised by Jurrien Timber's inclusion ahead of Matthijs de Ligt, he is not the biggest and not especially quick but he is being relied upon by the manager.

Even the goalkeeper made his debut at the start of the competition, so Louis van Gaal is taking major risks and they have paid off so far.

Expectation fuelled by consistent displays of excellence.

Oof. This could have been nasty.

Nahuel Molina smashes into Cody Gakpo off the ball. Thankfully, both look to be unscathed.

Is that the first moment of an Argentina defender letting a Dutch forward know he's there?

Argentina are matching up against the Dutch.

It shows their flexibility but does it also show a bit of fear?

A few empty seats dotted around.

But the fans who are in here are certainly making up for it. This place would go very quiet should Netherlands take the lead though...

Alexis Mac Allister has had a fine World Cup so far.

The Brighton midfielder fires a pass out wide to Marcos Acuna, but his low cross is belted clear by a Dutch defender.

Whistles from the Argentina fans as the Dutch pass the ball around at the back. It's going to be hostile spot for the lads in orange.

Argentina's attack is one of the world's most vaunted... but Netherlands have been the deadlier finishers this tournament.

The Dutch have scored eight from 14 shots on target in Qatar, compared to seven from 25 for the Argentines.

    Netherlands have a 27.59% conversion rate pre-match here. Argentina's is only 14.58%

The Dutch fans are here and they are very striking - even if there isn't very many of them.

In this 88,000 plus capacity stadium, there is a block of about 50 supporters at the very front all decked out in bright orange,

Bar a few other orange shirts dotted here and there, the contrast is stark to the sea of blue and white.

It's going to be some atmosphere.

The danger is that both teams could cancel each other out with the systems they are playing. If the Netherlands stop Lionel Messi I think they go through.
