    Croatia 0-0 Morocco

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

It will be different mindsets for different players in different teams. It's a great opportunity for certain players to put themselves in the shop window and some of these Morocco players have been absolutely outstanding.

There's a seriousness about their players and they will want to go out and win and come third.

    Croatia 0-0 Morocco

    Oh my!

Morocco goalkeeper Bono almost kicks the ball into his own net as he tries to pass out under pressure, but the ball skips just wide of his own post and out for a corner, much to his relief.

That would have been a very bizarre own goal.

    Croatia 0-0 Morocco

The Morocco fans are making themselves heard straight from the outset, jeering the Croatia players as they have all the early possession.

There's a sniff of an early opportunity as Lovro Majer is sent scampering away down the right but Morocco's defence snuffs out the chance.

    Croatia v Morocco (15:00 GMT)

    Alex Scott
Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One

Modric's hard work goes unnoticed. When you look at his heatmap. He covers all the areas, gets back and helps his team defensively and he knows the spaces to be in where he can receive the ball and hurt the opposition.

Yes he has every aspect to his game and he has just been a class above for so many years. When a top player has skill and quality, can they deliver all the time? He does that.

    Croatia v Morocco (15:00 GMT)

    Micah Richards
Former England defender on BBC One

For Morocco it's about leaving a legacy. A lot of people have talked about them negatively and just being defensive but in the last few games they have been on the front foot and they have got better each game and been a joy to watch.

The big World Cup is out on the pitch ahead of kick off. Wheeling that out feels a touch like asking Bullseye contestants to stick around and look what they could have won (a speedboat).

Morocco's trailblazing run to the semi-finals will inspire the continent's teams to dare to dream of reaching the World Cup final in the future, says former Nigeria great Sunday Oliseh.

Despite losing to France at the penultimate hurdle, Oliseh believes their unprecedented success will empower other African nations to follow in their footsteps with the World Cup expanding to 48 teams in 2026.

"The essence of having records is to push people to break them," Oliseh told BBC Sport Africa.

"So if your record has only been the quarter-final, the aim will be to get to the semi-final. The new ambition is now no longer just the semi-final, the ambition now is getting to the final."

  12. 'Our England bronze changed so much'published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2022

    Croatia v Morocco (15:00 GMT)

    Alex Scott
Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One

For England, 2015 was absolutely everything. To get that bronze medal, what it allowed for the women's game was more investment.

More investment to say 'ok we've got a bronze medal but how do we turn that into a gold?' Obviously the Lionesses did over the summer. That was a huge heartbreaking moment that we were so close to that final. Winning that bronze medal changed so many things.

    Croatia v Morocco (15:00 GMT)

    Jurgen Klinsmann
Former Germany head coach on BBC One

On Germany winning the third-place game in the tournament they hosted in 2006...

It was super important for us to finish the tournament on a good note and to say thank you to the support from the people.

For us it was a festival, we beat Portugal 3-1 in the third-place game and we showed a beautiful face of Germany.

It was the first tournament we had hosted since the unification of Germany and we went to the [reception] at the Brandenburg Gate [in Berlin] in front of a million people so it means a lot to win the game for the third place.

The pride that has come along with everyone following Morocco, not only in their own country, I think the world. The passion and heart they have played with. They've won so many people over so it's about finding that energy to go once against because it means so much.
