    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

I suggested at half-time Scott Arfield would need to play with more risk, and that's twice now he's hit the box beyond Joe Aribo.

Here we go for the second half.

It's all or nothing for Rangers now. A draw is no good, but will minds stray to Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg?

In such a commanding position in the table, Celtic can relax and try to go for the kill.

  9. 'Front three get home crowd going'published at 12:57 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    HT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Tom English
BBC Scotland's chief sports writer on Sportsound

    Quote Message

I thought Rangers started very well but Ryan Kent has got to score with that tremendous chance. It's one of my problems with Kent, he flatters to deceive, he's got three goals this season - it's nowhere near good enough. But for Celtic - Maeda has been outstanding, Jota has been outstanding, Kyogo has been outstanding, and this crowd is electrified.

    HT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Celtic didn't panic early on. I think a lot of people will look back to the chance from Ryan Kent. Rangers pressed them with a high tempo early on but Celtic have been the better team since scoring.

  12. HALF-TIME Celtic 1-0 Rangerspublished at 45 mins

Celtic have one hand firmly on the Scottish Premiership trophy as the players jog off for a well-earned breather.

It's been fast, it's been furious and Celtic are in front thanks to Jota's quick thinking.

    Neil McCann
Former Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

If Daizen Maeda is brave there, it's 2-0. I think Allan McGregor's presence puts him off and he closes his eyes. But what a couple of chances Celtic have had.

Rangers with two corners in quick succession, but both deliveries from James Tavernier are easily repelled.

  18. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Yet another cheap mistake in midfield and now Fashion Sakala has the chance to run at an exposed Celtic defence but the winger never really has the ball under control and Carl Starfelt is too strong for him.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Both sides are guilty of coughing up possession rather easily and another moment of slackness in midfield allows Reo Hatate to pick out Jota with a looping cross, but the unmarked Celtic goalscorer sends a lunging header over the top from near the penalty spot.

  20. 'Rangers need strong personalities'published at 12:29 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Quote Message

Can Rangers get that confidence from the first 15 minutes back? They somehow have to get on the ball and also close down Celtic. There's going to need to be some very strong personalities in that team to pull it back.
