It's that man Harry McKirdy again.

Great technique on the volley - he really is the man of the moment and the man of the season for Swindon Town.

You have to give him massive credit - it would've been very easy to strike that over but he's controlled it brilliantly.

Harry McKirdy is desperate to get on the end of it but he can't quite get that touch.

The game is really finely balanced.

Harry McKirdy tries to turn around this half in Swindon's favour by trying his luck from distance but it goes wide.

Soon after, Ellis Iandolo hooks a low ball inside the Port Vale box towards McKirdy who can't direct it towards goal in time.

    That's better from the hosts.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

Jamie Proctor comes in for Port Vale, replacing Ryan Edmondson.

Just under half an hour remains and Vale have sent on their leading goalscorer this term.

    Swindon 1-0 Port Vale

Good work from Tom Pett again, and a nice run form Nathan Smith inside the box.

He couldn't do anymore - he put a ball across the six-yard box and they just couldn't get a gold shirt on it.

    Far better from Vale.

Port Vale clumsily concede a throw-in in Swindon's half soon after.

It's still scrappy, but Port Vale have dominated since the restart.

Play's stopped after a collisiion between Mandela Egbo and James Wilson.

Egbo's clinging his head, Wilson's clinging his back. Looks painful for them both.

    HT: Swindon 1-0 Port Vale

    Steve Hale
Goalkeeping coach on BBC Radio Wiltshire

Maybe Vale might have a go early in the second half, but it's hard to predict.

The intensity at the start was very high and there was no way either side could keep that up.

You'd expect Port Vale to become a little bit more cagy in their play as the game goes on, as they'll want to make sure they're still in the tie going back to their place.

  14. 'Swindon have moved ball better'published at 12:53 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    HT: Swindon 1-0 Port Vale

    Phil Sproson
Former Port Vale captain on BBC Radio Stoke

I think Swindon have moved the ball better than Vale

They've been first to the ball, Vale haven't.

Sloppy marking cost the goal - Harry McKirdy's been a thorn in the side, we knew what he'd be like.
