HT: Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Two goals from the three other play-offs across the Championship and League One. They all kicked off at 7.45pm so they're all in their infancy but...

Craig Johnston has put Montrose 1-0 ahead of Airdrieonians at Links Park - somewhat of an upset as the visitors pushed Cove Rangers all the way for the League One title.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh City have taken a 1-0 lead against Dumbarton at Ainslie Park through Ouzy See. A huge result for the Citizens, who would relegate Dumbarton if they win over the two legs.

I enjoyed it because neither side has dominated. I think you can see the players know what's on the line, they don't want it to open up. They're going at it, there's been a real effort defensively.

  3. HALF-TIME Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistlepublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 3 May 2022

A quarter of the way through the quarter-final and it's a fairly tense affair.

Both sides have tried to play, with Inverness maybe slightly better at working it into the opposition area.

But, neither keeper has been sufficiently tested and as such, the scores remain goalless. Still, well worth watching the second-half to see who can take an advantage into the second-leg on Friday night.

Oh what a chance for Robbie Deas!

Sean Welsh finds the left-back in acres of space in the box. He takes a lovely touch and half volleys past the post! That's the best opportunity of the match so far!

Billy Mckay picks up a loose ball, looks up, and fires a tame effort at Jamie Sneddon.

That's been the way of it so far, really. A lot of endeavour from both sides but a distinct lack of quality chances at either end of the pitch.

There's only been one goal at Firhill between these two sides all season. Will we get one before half-time?

A big call from Steven McLean as Scott Tiffoney goes down on the edge of the area after a lovely driving run. Again, no free-kick.

Partick keep the pressure up and David Carson puts a vital foot in as Alex Jakubiak's cross comes in.

After another corner, Inverness come up the pitch and Stephen Hendrie is cautioned for fouling Lewis Hyde. End-to-end stuff at Firhill!

Vital interception from Stuart Bannigan as Billy Mckay tries to chip to Logan Chalmers.

The on-loan Dundee United winger is in superb from - five goals in his last six games - and will be Caley Thistle's main threat this evening.

    Penalty shout! Nothing given!

Great footwork from Logan Chalmers on the left-hand side, he nutmegs Tunji Akinola and goes down when he rounds him... Steven McLean waves it away. Big call!

Doesn't look like Tom Walsh will be able to continue... and now Sean Welsh is down after clearing a corner. He looks okay to continue though.

19-year-old Lewis Hyde replaces Walsh - making only his ninth appearance of the season.

A few Partick crosses are well delivered, and Mark Ridgers does well to hold a poke from Tunji Akinola.

Mark Ridgers breathes a BIG sigh of relief after his kick is closed down by Brian Graham, but it comes to his own defender.

Inverness then go up the pitch and Shane Sutherland chests down to Tom Walsh, but the attacker can't connect and he hurts himself in the process.

He's limping off now - Caley won't want to make a change this early.

The surface came in for a lot of criticism earlier in the season. It's looking very green this evening but the ball is bobbling all over the place.

Small shout for a handball from a Partick Thistle corner, referee Steven McLean sees nothing wrong.

Shane Sutherland has the early chance!

Tom Walsh got away from Tunji Akinola and squared to his colleague on the edge of the box, but the striker dragged his shot across the goal.

Tonight will be a fierce contest. Inverness are coming into this one in better form, they'll feel better about themselves. Over the course of the season you can't split these sides.

Of course, this isn't the only Scottish footballing action happening tonight.

The first leg of one of the Scottish Championship promotion play-offs takes place tonight - Montrose v Airdrieonians kicks-off at 7.45pm.

There's also the first legs of two semi-finals in the League One promotion play-offs - Edinburgh City v Dumbarton and Annan Athletic against Forfar Athletic.

And apparently there's some Champions League game on. Not interested in that though, are we?

Partick Thistle v Inverness Caledonian Thistle (19:05)

The sides have already met four times in the league with the record showing a win each and two draws.

Inverness won the first tussle with a 3-1 victory in the Highlands before two very different ties.

A goalless draw before Halloween was followed by a memorable 3-3, that saw Kirk Broadfoot's 94th minute goal share the spoils.

Most recently at the start of March, Thistle took all three points with an 85th minute Kevin Holt winner.

Basically, this is anyone's game. Inverness head in with slightly better form, three wins from their last five, and have the home advantage in the all-important second leg.
