Pass-pass-pass from Rangers, but they can't stretch the stubborn visitors. James Tavernier eventually pings in a deep cross but it's too high for Fashion Sakala.

Rangers winger Fashion Sakala does so well to kill a long ball forward from Connor Goldson on his chest, then wriggles away from two defenders, only to send his shot inches wide from near the penalty spot.

Rangers are up to 70% possession as we get to the half hour mark but United are a stuffy side, keeping a solid shape.

Fashion Sakala takes a bad touch then lunges in to recover the situation and he crashes into the toes of United forward Tony Watt, who got there first.

Lovely work from the old-timers Steven Davis and Scott Arfield as a rapid exchange of passes rips open the United defence but the latter can't squeeze his shot past the giant frame of Benjamin Siegrist, who sticks out a hand to make an impressive stop.

Mathew Cudjoe and Leon King both appear to be enjoying their first starts today.

Both have had plenty of touches to settle any big match nerves.

Following a fluffed pass from Charlie Mulgrew, Fashion Sakala drives through the United defence on the left of the penalty area but his low, angled shot is kept out by goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.

There's not much to Mathew Anim Cudjoe but the slight teenager from Ghana shows nice balance and control to race away from three Rangers players before United surrender possession with an aimless long ball.

Fashion Sakala does well to keep the ball in play at the byeline and his cross falls for Scott Arfield, who has a lash at goal only for team-mate Steven Davis to get in the way.
