"They're a bit like Real Madrid aren't they?"

That's how my colleague Chris described Grimsby's magical play-off run.

They were seconds away from being knocked out at the first hurdle against Notts County. Gavan Holohan's equaliser six minutes into second-half added time cancelling out Ruben Rodrigues' opener for Notts.

And late substitute Mani Dieseruvwe bundled the ball in at the far post in the 119th minute to complete the comeback.

Then, against Wrexham, Luke Waterfall popped up again in the 119th minute, to help Grimsby edge Wrexham 5-4 and reach today's final.

    The Mariners have the momentum.

What a story it would be if Solihull Moors could find themselves in the same division as former Premier League clubs Bradford City and Swindon Town.

The club was founded in 2007 by the merger of Moor Green (founded in 1901) and Solihull Borough (founded in 1953).

They have never been closer to the EFL than this afternoon.

And you know what, I make them favourites, having beaten Grimsby twice already this season.

    However...

Grimsby finished sixth in the league, a full 10 points behind Solihull, and had to go to extra time to beat both Notts County and Wrexham away to get to the final.

For those living under a rock, that Wrexham match was insane!

Luke Waterfall scored a 119th-winner for Grimsby, who had beaten Notts County in extra-time in the play-off eliminator, to defeat their Welsh opponents 5-4.

Solihull meanwhile have had a quieter ride. they finished third in the league and beat Chesterfield 3-1 in their play-off semi-final.

Our attention now turns to West Ham's London Stadium. How are your nerves?

    One game.

That's all that stands between these two clubs and the promise of the Football League.

Grimsby are looking to return to the EFL at the first time of asking whereas Solihull Moors have never played in the Football League before.

It's a time to make yourself a hero!
