Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst to Premier Sports: "It’s been a short time after the [Europa League] final.
"It’s good to start the season and good to play in Europe again because we had great memories.
"It’s a new season, new chances and we get to do it all again. We are more than ready to start our campaign in Europe."

With kick-off imminent, the stadium is still well short of capacity but it still feels pretty raucous.
The home fans are right up for this. Well, you would be in your first Champions League qualifier.
The visiting fans obviously haven't travelled in the kind of numbers they did three months ago to Seville - a few hundred have made the trip and as usual are making themselves heard too.
Cracking atmosphere, hopefully the game is similar.

There was a fair bit of VAR debate after the first round of Premiership games at the weekend, including a couple of decisions in Rangers' win at Livingston.
There should be less room for controversy this eveving as VAR will be in operation.
"This is the first time the technology is being implemented in a non-centralised phase of a Uefa competition," the governing body said in a statement last month.

Football's a funny old game.
Almost a year to the day, Steven Gerrard was in the dugout as Rangers were dumped out of Champions League qualifying at this stage.
It was Swedish side Malmo who did the damage on Gerrard's men thanks to a second-leg brace from some guy called Antonio Colak.
Anyone know what happened to him?

Quote MessageIt's a safe pick. He's gone for a solid three in the middle of the park, tried and trusted. The goalkeeper, back four and middle three is a strong, settled unit. The three up front, they're new to the game, new to this environment. The problem for me is they're yet to bring in an Alfredo Morelos-type player.

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has accepted his side are expected to advance through this tie after their run to last season's Europa League final.
"If you reach the Europa League final you're seen as a favourite to go into the Champions League as well," he said in during his pre-match press conference.
"It's a very strong competition already in this round. The pressure is always there."
"I have a lot of respect for [Union SG]. They've had an amazing year. Promoted to the main league and pushing for the title, it's an amazing story."

Union SG had already played two league games by the time Rangers travelled to the Tony Macaroni on Saturday.
Their season started with a 1-1 draw at St Truiden over a fortnight ago before a tight 1-0 win at home to Charleroi on Friday.
Like Rangers, Union SG's 2022-23 European campaign begins tonight.

The Brussels-based side topped the Belgian top flight after 34 games last term, but finished second behind Club Bruges following the six-match play-off series.
Remarkably, it was the club's first season back in the top flight since 1973, while the last of their 11 league titles came in 1935.
Their youthful squad is peppered with internationals from Luxembourg, Madagascar and Malta, as well as several players who have represented their country at youth levels.
There's an English connection at the club as Brighton chairman Tony Bloom is the majority owner, while Christian Burgess, Marcel Lewis and Ross Sykes are also in Karel Geraerts' squad.

Quote MessageRyan Jack coming back is very important for Rangers. He plugs the gaps in midfield. As a defensive midfielder, I think he's the pick of the bunch. Rabbi Matondo coming in, it's a good chance for him to get his Rangers career under way.

Simply because Union SG's Stade Joseph Marien doesn't meet Uefa standards.
The first leg is instead taking place 20 miles away at the Den Dreef Stadium in Leuven, a ground which holds 10,000 fans.

It's a very warm evening in Leuven as both sets of keepers emerge for their warm-up.
The stadium - the home of OH Leuven - is bigger than Union SG's own but it's still pretty small, certainly by this competition's standards.
The Rangers fans are beginning to make their way in behind the goal, where Jon McLaughlin and company are going through their paces.

Rabbi Matondo comes in for his competitive debut, along with Ryan Jack and James Sands, while Malik Tillman makes his first Rangers start.
