Jack Clarke and Dan Neil have both fired half-chances over the bar for the hosts.

Alex Pritchard then finds Ellis Simms but the Sunderland forward drags his shot narrowly wide.

Some early action in front of goal for Preston - who have still only scored one goal this season, remember - as Greg Cunningham forces a save out of Coventry keeper Ben Wilson from distance.

Oof we're up and running at Ashton Gate only four minutes in. This fixture is teasing goals already.
