Dundee win a free-kick just on the edge of the box in an inviting position as Cammy Kerr is brought down and Arbroath's Colin Hamilton is booked.

Harrison Sharp rushes out and is booked for a challenge on Michael McKenna. Nicky Low then slots his penalty in the bottom-left corner, sending the keeper the wrong way.

  8. HALF-TIME Dundee 1-0 Arbroathpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 12 August 2022

Arbroath started the brighter of the two sides, but Dundee soon imposed themselves on the game.

Chance after chance came and went before Luke McCowan sent his shot into the roof of the net with great composure.

A great end-to-end half of football it has to be said.

A striker on form would be taking a touch and getting a shot away there, Rudden clearly isn't that right now

    Dundee 0-0 Arbroath

A straight from the training ground set-piece routine and the ball is cut across the Arbroath penalty box.

Zak Rudden steps over the ball as it's a touch behind him and Josh Mulligan can't react quick enough to shot from close range.

    Dundee 0-0 Arbroath

Dundee go close, via the head of Arbroath defender Ricky Little.

The ball glances off his head as he tries to clear it, dropping just wide of the back post.

The corner ends up resulting in an Arbroath goal kick.

    Dundee 0-0 Arbroath

Dundee striker Zak Rudden is through, latching on to a simple ball over the top.

He thinks he can dink the goalkeeper, but he fails, allowing Derek Gaston to calmly catch the poor attempt.

    Dundee 0-0 Arbroath

Quite the end-to-end affair we've got on our hands here.

Plenty of decent play from each side - just not a whole lot of chances yet.

Arbroath's Scott Stewart fires a difficult volley over the bar as his side takes their turn to attack again.

    Hopefully I've not jinxed it...

  19. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Arbroath

The hosts are starting to grow into the game now.

Zak Rudden is dropping deep and linking play well with Luke McCowan and Paul McGowan.

A succession of corners for Dundee does not result in a goal, but they're looking more dangerous than they did in the opening 15 minutes.

  20. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Arbroath

Another whipped Arbroath cross allows Scott Stewart to divert a header goalward.

No goals yet in their league campaign, but they look determined to end that run tonight.
