  • Partick Thistle go top as Inverness lose in league for first time this season

Partick Thistle 2-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

A huge chance for the Brian Graham hat-trick!

David Carson was the man who gifted him the opportunity and Graham tried to be too cute, attempting to dink it over the onrushing Mark Ridgers. Instead, he clipped is safely into the goalie's arms.

A double change for Partick Thistle, too! Although I imagine Ian McCall was happier at the break...

Darren Brownlie and Kyle Turner are on for Lee Hodson and Ross Docherty. The latter certainly had an injury problem in the first-half.

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

Partick Thistle 2-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Aaron Doran and Lewis Hyde are off, with David Carson and George Oakley coming on.

A double change at the break for Inverness, which might reveal what Billy Dodds thought of his side's first-half performance.

There's an early chance for the Caley Jags too, but David Mitchell holds Scott Allardice's shot.

When you experience defeat, you want a reaction. What a start from Partick. They really put Inverness on the back-foot with good quality, good energy, balls coming in from both flanks.

Partick were impressive from the get-go. We spoke about Scott Tiffoney pre-game, how important and influential he could be, the type of chances he can create. He's been at since the start. I don't think Inverness have got going at all, and that will frustrate Billy Dodds.

Apparently Scotland and Bournemouth star Ryan Christie is tuning in, keeping a tab on his old team!

Here he is in August 2015, up against Gary Miller - who's now plying his trade in the Lowland League with East Kilbride.

  8. HALF-TIME Partick Thistle 2-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistlepublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 19 August 2022

A most comfortable first-half for Partick, with Brian Graham benefitting from some rather lacklustre Inverness defending.

The first was a defence-splitting ball from Steven Lawless, the second was a defensive calamity from Robbie Deas - presenting the ball beautifully for Scott Tiffoney.

A forty-five minutes to soothe the ill-feeling of the home fans in the Firhill stands.

A semblance of opening for the visitors as Aaron Doran takes a deft touch in the Partick area, before his shot is closed down.

Billy Dodds predicted a few goals this evening. So far, his side haven't done a great to look like scoring them.

    Partick, on the other hand...

    Brian Graham

    Nightmare for Robbie Deas!

His back pass is nabbed by Scott Tiffoney, who takes a touch away from Mark Ridgers, teeing up Graham in the process. Billy Dodds, look away now!

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 33 mins

Partick Thistle 1-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

A cynical booking for Billy Mckay, who hauls down Steven Lawless as Partick countered up the pitch.

Stuart Bannigan sends the free-kick in low, Ross Docherty tries to flick on... but it comes to nothing.

Caley come close through Billy Mckay!

The forward cushions a header to Aaron Doran in the box, who lays it back to the striker - but his outside-of-the-foot shot is well saved by David Mitchell.

Best moment of the game for the visitors.

  14. Postpublished at 25 mins

Partick Thistle 1-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

A few shaky moments for David Mitchell in the Partick goal.

He had to header and then boot away a clearance, before almost watching a Harry Milne back-header sail past him into his own net.

Partick Thistle 1-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Another chance, this time for Cole McKinnon!

Partick immediately win a corner, it's cleared and worked to McKinnon on the edge of the box who curls.. but Ridgers holds.

    Brian Graham

    Perfect for Partick Thistle!

Steven Lawless deserves the credit, sliding Cole McKinnon into the box with a great reverse pass. The on-loan Rangers youngster squared to Graham, who fired high into the net from close range. We have a breakthrough!

  17. Postpublished at 18 mins

Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Almost a chance as Inverness start to come more into this game, particularly through Aaron Doran.

The bad news for Partick is that captain Ross Docherty is down receiving treatment. He's shaking his head a lot, which isn't the best sign, but he's going to try and carry on!

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13 mins

Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Stuart Bannigan is the first to see referee Grant Irvine put his hand into his pocket, for a trip on the onrushing Austin Samuels.

  19. Postpublished at 9 mins

Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Scott Tiffoney has started this game very well on the left-hand side of Partick's attack, and it could be a very long night for Lewis Hyde.

When it's not Tiffoney, it's Harry Milne - the bartender turned left-back who joined the Jags from Cove Rangers this summer.

  20. Postpublished at 3 mins

Partick Thistle 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

    And now Inverness go close!

Scott Allardice put everything into that, driving from 25 yards. It's just over the bar!
