  1. Sutton's predictionpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Sutton's prediction:2-1

I was only just out when I predicted that Leeds would lose 6-1 at Liverpool last week.

I took a lot of flak from Leeds fans following their win at Anfield but, once again, it was after the event. They were thinking the same as me before the game.

Seriously though, I was pleased for Leeds boss Jesse Marsch when he got that result. I have never met him, and he bigs his team up possibly too much at times after they've lost games, but I get why he is always trying to be positive about his players.

That win will buy him a bit of time, not with the club's owners, but with the Elland Road crowd who were on his back when they lost to Fulham in their last home game.

That goodwill will only last if Marsch can back it up by beating Bournemouth, who were woeful as they chucked away a 2-0 lead to lose against Tottenham last time out.

But it is a good enough reason to be positive about Leeds, and I am going for them to win this one. Unfortunately for them, that usually means they lose.

    Bournemouth interim boss Gary O'Neil:

"The boys did well in large parts against Tottenham. I'm sure the boys are ready to go against Leeds. We need to manage Leeds' intensity and we are fully prepped and ready. We have big ability in the side."

The Etihad is a daunting sight for all to visiting players this season, but especially goalkeepers.

Manchester City have won all six of their home Premier League games this season, scoring 27 goals - an average of 4.5 goals a game. Only Welsh side Wrexham, with 35 in nine games, have scored more on their own patch in the top five English divisions.

Can Fulham do any better today? I guess their keeper Bernd Leno would start by trying to improve on his last visit, when he was in the Arsenal team that lost 5-0 here in August last year.

Number 9s? More like like NO 9s.

Having Haaland on the bench is an added bonus for Man City, whereas not having Mitrovic at all is a sizeable blow to Fulham.

Their whole game plan revolves around him, and judging by Pep Guardiola’s press conference yesterday, the Serbian’s presence clearly concerned him more than any other Fulham player.

  5. Wolves' striker crisispublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Wolves v Brighton (15:00GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Molineux

Julen Lopetegui's appointment as manager as brought a fresh air of optimism at Wolves.

However, their struggles will continue as long as they don't have a goal threat.

Veteran forward Diego Costa is suspended, so Hwang Hee-chan, whose only Wolves goal in over a year came at Arsenal in February, starts.

On the bench are two completely untested youngsters. Nineteen-year-old former Manchester City academy player Harvey Griffiths and Nathan Fraser, a 17-year-old Republic of Ireland youth international, get their first involvement at senior level.

  6. 'Lopetegui is top appointment'published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Wolves v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves manager Steve Davis on Julen Lopetegui's appointment, speaking to Premier League Productions: "He's a top appointment. He's somebody we've tried to get for a while now so I'm just pleased they've managed to get the person they wanted a while ago and he's accepted and coming at the end of next week hopefully. I think it's a great appointment and something the club need."

On facing Brighton after their win against Chelsea: "They're coming off the back of a great result last week. Hopefully our plan today will stop them a little bit and we can create some problems for them."

On today's changes: "It gives opportunities to others who've been waiting when players are injured or suspended. They've got a chance today and we hope they do well for us."

    Leeds v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio 5 Live

I'm concerned about Bournemouth to be honest because the uncertainty around the manager, there will be a takeover and Gary O'Neil did a great job when he first came in, but you need to have that stability, you would expect Wolves will get a lift from Lopetegui coming in.

Leicester seem to have picked up points and you look at the teams around them and they've got good players. I'm not saying that Bournemouth don't but it's going to be tough for them to try and find or re find that form, that momentum to do enough but the takeover might help with that.

There's no doubt that they need to sign some players when it comes to January but I would fear most for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth midfielder Marcus Tavernier, speaking to BBC Sport: "Leeds have got a great fanbase and the crowd can really get behind them but we can't let that disrupt us.

"It's about sticking to what we know. We will take the positives from our last game against Tottenham (2-3 defeat) even though we didn't get what we wanted."

It's only two weeks since the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet pundits were questioning Crysencio Summerville's inclusion in the Leeds United team, but Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix is already retracting his comments.

Somerville was the hero as Jesse Marsch's side secured a memorable win at Liverpool on Saturday and Rix admits he was a touch premature in his assessment.

"I've got a few apologies to make," he laughs on the latest episode of BBC Radio Leeds' Whites podcast. "Over the past few weeks, I've not been the most positive about Rasmus [Kristensen], [Wilfried] Gnonto and Summerville - and all of them had their best performances.

"With Summerville, even if he had not scored we would have been saying he'd had a pretty decent game, but the goal just capped it off."

BBC Radio Leeds' Adam Pope agreed, saying Summerville "came good on the night". According to his sources, the Dutch midfielder has been winning plaudits in training but struggling to translate that on to a matchday.

  11. 'Probably quite a harsh judgement' - pundits react to anti-Marsch sentimentpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Leeds v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Jesse MarschImage source, Getty Images

Jesse Marsch's body of work at Leeds United means he "deserves more time" at the helm, says former Premier League striker Chris Sutton, who added that the supporters have "short memories".

Marsch's future looked bleak after a home defeat by Fulham but his side then went and produced Saturday's dramatic win at Liverpool.

Sutton told the Monday Night Club he was disappointed by some Whites fans losing faith in the American.

"This is the guy who kept them in the Premier League last year and they started the season pretty well," he said. "I get that pressure was on after the poor performance at Leicester but singing [Marcelo] Bielsa's name was not fair.

"I don't think the start of the season has been awful, but the win was much-needed because fans had turned on him in huge numbers."

Football journalist Rory Smith agreed, arguing that the boos at Elland Road for Marsch were "probably quite a harsh judgement, given performances this season have overall been pretty good" - albeit without the accompanying results.

BBC Radio Leeds' Adam Pope joined the discussion and suggested a heavy defeat at Anfield would have "made it hard to justify" keeping Marsch.

Leeds keeper Illan Meslier, speaking to BBC Sport: "Last week's win over Liverpool was important for the squad because we were eight games without a win.

"But Liverpool is in the past now. Against Bournemouth we have to play like we did against Liverpool and with the fans it should be a great game.

"I played well against Liverpool but I have to play well today as well. We are at home, Bournemouth lost last week so we have to keep pushing. We need a good start with a lot of intensity. The fans can help us."

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to Premier League Productions: "Today is another difficult game. I think we have to be focused only on ourselves, our game. I want to see my team play well, be alert when we have to defend and be alive when we have to attack.

"We have to be with the mentality to create the right conditions to win the game.

"Wolves are a very good team with very good players and it's a very difficult game but we are eager to win, to take another three points because we need the three points. We need another good performance."

On his squad selection: "I had some doubts about the first eleven, about Danny Welbeck and Joel Veltman, but I think we will be able to change the game in the second half."

Levi Colwill was one of the most sought after young players on the loan market this summer.

The Chelsea defender was one of the key figures in Huddersfield's run to the Championship play-off and Brighton were very pleased to sign him.

However, Colwill has not featured since the victory against Leeds in August. He was on the bench at Manchester City a couple of weeks ago but didn't get on and missed the win over Chelsea due to loan regulations.

  18. Summerville demands as Sinisterra is forced to waitpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Leeds v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Jesse Marsch says he hopes to inspire Crysencio Summerville to raise his levels of discipline, professionalism and work ethic.

The 21-year-old won plaudits for his late winner at Anfield last weekend, helping Leeds end an eight-game winless run in the league.

Marsch says the Dutch winger is a "gamer" who performs well in matches but who may need to be more applied day-to-day.

"It was unfortunate Crysencio picked up an injury last year - he was starting to look good in training then," Marsch said.

"I talked after the Liverpool game that a big factor for him is discipline, being professional and work ethic. I’ve been on top of him this week to have a really good training week and he has."

Asked what Summerville can improve, Marsch added: "It was a little bit of everything. Making sure he was getting here early enough. That he was putting work in the gym, preparing the same way, paying attention in video, applying the lessons we wanted to learn.

"His potential is very high. We just have to keep pushing him everyday as a pro.

"I think he is a dangerous player. Is he going to score every game? No. But I think he can be a big part of unbalancing the opponent."

Summerville's role may be even more crucial in the coming weeks after Marsch learned Luis Sinisterra's foot injury is more serious than first feared and will likely rule the forward out until after the World Cup.

"They did another scan, had a specialist look at it - it’s a rare injury that controls the movement of the metatarsals," said Marsch.

"When it’s ruptured it can be a long recovery. We don’t believe it is, we think it is partially torn, which puts him in a grey area. We hope it’s a version that doesn’t take him out for long."

  19. O'Neil expects tough test at 'unlucky' Leedspublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Leeds v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Bournemouth interim boss Gary O'Neil believes Leeds United are in a false position, having been impressed with the work Jesse Marsch is doing at Elland Road.

The Cherries travel to Elland Road on Saturday and O'Neil will hope to burst the home side's bubble after their impressive victory over Liverpool at Anfield.

He says Marsch will be "in a really good place" as he prepares his squad for Bournemouth's visit.

"They're very unlucky to be where they are," he said. "I've looked at their numbers and watched their games. They press aggressively, have big energy and pace and they play some really good stuff.

"Every time I see his side play they have a clear identity and know what they're trying to do.

"He's obviously an intelligent guy and they've just got a huge result at Anfield.

"It's another huge test for us, in a big atmosphere. But it's one we're looking forward to."

Nottingham Forest v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

This is the first ever meeting between Nottingham Forest and Brentford in the Premier League.

The two have faced each other on plenty of occasions recently in the Championship with the last game ending in a 1-1 draw in March 2021.

Brentford's record against Forest on the road has been pretty good too - they have won five of their past seven games at the City Ground.

They would be keen to get a result there today with Brentford currently winless in all six away matches in the league this season.
