    Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace are the better side at the moment. Certainly the more proactive.

And they finally have a shot on target after two games without one. Cheick Doucoure's effort is tame but forces Mark Travers into a save.

    Fulham 0-0 Southampton

Lyanco comes crashing in on Andreas Pereira and it's an easy decision to award a free-kick. He's perhaps fortunate not to receive a yellow card too.

  3. 'Leeds need a plan B'published at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Leeds are hard working and disciplined. But sometimes you are just looking for one player who can just put his foot on the ball and see the picture.

They are so quick, I don't know how they are going to maintain it for 90 minutes. You never see them slow down and have a plan B.

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Wilfried Gnonto is providing a decent spark in the Leeds attack. He's always showing for the ball and looking to make something happen and his shot attempt on the edge of the area is deflected behind to give Leeds their first corner of the game, but it comes to nothing.

Absolutely chucking it down in Newcastle at the moment. Any NYE revellers will be hoping that subsides by the time they hit the town later.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace

I'm always fascinated to imagine what these billionaire foreign owners think when they finally get to a game in England? Bill Foley, who will surely be very accustomed to the finer things in life, has spent a fortune on his new toy and here he is, cold and in the pouring rain.

It doesn't matter how much money gets thrown at the Premier League, some aspects of it are staunchly old school.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Fulham 0-0 Southampton

Great play from Willian as Fulham's good play continues. He plays a one-two with Andreas Pereira then thumps it dangerously wide of the left post.

  7. CLOSE!published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 0-0 Everton

Kevin de Bruyne slides it through to Erling Haaland but the angle is tight. He goes around Jordan Pickford then pokes it into the side-netting.

    Fulham 0-0 Southampton

Fulham have had a good spell of possession at Craven Cottage. Southampton look well organised so far though.

  9. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 0-0 Everton

Kevin de Bruyne floats one in for Erling Haaland but James Tarkowski heads it away.

  10. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Leeds are caught out by a ball over the top and Joe Willock is in. He mis-controls but the ball is worked to Joelinton, whose low effort is easy for Illan Meslier.

  11. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 0-0 Everton

City have very quickly settled into their usual rhythm and are dominating possession.

Jack Grealish's cross from the left is blocked, then the referee pauses play to have a quick word with Erling Haaland and Ben Godfrey, who haven't stopped tussling since kick-off.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace

Marc Guehi is not in the mood to be bullied. He held off Dominic Solanke earlier and now he slides firmly but fairly to tackle Kieffer Moore, who has to take a moment to compose himself again afterwards.

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

You've got to give Leeds credit. Newcastle cannot settle on the ball yet, Leeds are really unsettling them.

  14. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Leeds only really came alive against Manchester City last-time out when they were 2-0 but they are much more attack-minded so far in this game. They are putting Newcastle under pressure whenever the hosts have the ball.

  15. CLOSE!published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Leeds

Chris Wood knocks the ball past an on rushing Illan Meslier inside the Leeds box. He has Joelinton square for a tap in but Wood decides to go for it alone despite the angle being tight and fires into the sidenetting. Wrong option.

    Fulham 0-0 Southampton

Che Adams pays his own tribute to Pele with an audacious effort from just over the halfway line as he spots Bernd Leno off his line. The result is not very Pele-like though.

  17. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Palace have started pretty well.

Jeffrey Schlupp latches on to a cleared ball and looks to hook a shot on target but instead slices it wide of the target.

  18. Postpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Man City 0-0 Everton

City have a free-kick in Everton's half but Bernardo Silva scuffs it way out for a goal kick. Pep Guardiola applauds in encouragement.

  19. Postpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2022

    Fulham 0-0 Southampton

Southampton are growing into it after Aleksandar Mitrovic's counter-attack breaks down at the other end. A neat ball down the right is cut-back but Fulham deal with it in the middle.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace

This is a contest to watch - Dominic Solanke v Marc Guehi.

A long ball forward has the Cherries forward sniffing and he almost gets the better of the Palace defender, who recovers to hold him off and clear.
