  1. Tough one to callpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    St Mirren v Hibernian (15:00)

St Mirren are going for three league wins on the bounce while today's opponents Hibernian have just one win from four so far this term.

One win each and two draws between these sides last season but Hibs are unbeaten in Paisley since 2014.

The Buddies have kept clean sheets in both their Premiership wins so far.

  2. Van Bronckhorst 'happy' with Rangers squadpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    Rangers v Ross County (15:00)

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is in buoyant mood after Wednesday's win over PSV Eindhoven.

"It's been a big night for us as a club and for Scottish football - two teams in the Champions League and Hearts in the Conference League," he tells BBC Scotland. "Very exciting time.

"I am happy with the squad. We could have less injuries, but it's why we've got a big squad - we can rotate and we have a strong bench."

Van Bronckhorst stressed that Glen Kamara's absence was not because of a serious injury. The midfielder, taken off in midweek, had "just a bit of discomfort in training" and the Dutchman did not want to risk the Finland international.

  4. Champions League money 'will help St Mirren grow'published at 14:34 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    St Mirren v Hibernian (15:00)

St Mirren's chief operating officer Keith Lasley has welcomed the solidarity payments that will be made to the other Scottish Premiership clubs due to the Old Firm reaching the Champions League group stage.

He told BBC Scotland: "A number of £500-600k is roughly about 15-20% of our turnover. So it gives you an idea of the impact it can have on clubs of our size.

"I don't get too hung up on [Rangers and Celtic's earning £30m-40m]. My job here is to grow St Mirren and try to help us be the very best we can be. That financial gulf is always going to be there.

"There's no point us saying, 'it's an extra £30m or £40m'. Rangers and Celtic have earned that through their own performances. It's up to us to take what we get from it and absolutely maximise that and help grow out football club."

Ayr United are four points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship this morning after last night's 3-1 win over Dundee.

The Honest Men will still be top come 17:00 BST but Partick Thistle and Queen's Park have the opportunity to cut the gap to one point.

At the other end of the table, Arbroath are still in search of a first league win of the season.

  7. Chrisene makes Killie debut as Well go same againpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (15:00)

Derek McInnes gives new signing Ben Chrisene a Kilmarnock debut after the 18-year-old left-back joined on loan from Aston Villa this week.

Daniel Armstrong also starts in the only other change to the team that lost narrowly at Ross County last weekend. Joe Wright and Rory McKenzie drop to the bench.

Motherwell, in great form right now, are unchanged after seeing off 10-man Livingston. Stevie Hammell is looking for his third straight win since becoming permanent manager.

  8. No changes for either sidepublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    Aberdeen v Livingston (15:00)

Two wins from four for both managers, who are happy with their previous starting line-ups despite mixed fortunes.

Aberdeen overcame St Johnstone thanks to a Leighton Clarkson wonder-strike and Jim Goodwin sticks to the same eleven, although Christian Ramirez drops out of the side completely.

David Martindale names the same side for the fourth week in a row. The Jack Hamilton listed on the bench is the former Hearts, Dundee and Morton keeper, not the striker who is now on loan at League Two side Hartlepool.

  9. Gogic on bench for Buddies, Schofield makes Hibs squadpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    St Mirren v Hibernian (15:00)

St Mirren stick with the same team that thrashed Dundee United 3-0 last week.

Midfielder Alex Gogic is on the bench after returning to the club on a two-year deal.

Hibs make two changes from the 2-2 draw with Rangers.

Defender Marijan Cabraja and forward Christian Doidge start, with midfield pair Joe Newell and Ewan Henderson dropping out.

Goalkeeper Ryan Schofield has joined on loan from Huddersfield Town, and takes his place on the bench with David Marshall still preferred in goal.

  10. Wright starts for Rangers, Loturi for Countypublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

    Rangers v Ross County (15:00)

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst shows his faith again with the side that overcame PSV Eindhoven to reach the Champions League group stage.

The only change from Wednesday's 1-0 win in the Netherlands is a forced one, with winger Scott Wright replacing injured Finland midfielder Glen Kamara.

County's Malky Mackay makes an additional change to the two made necessary after defender Jack Baldwin and midfielder Ross Callachan had bookings upgraded to red cards after last weekend's win over Kilmarnock.

Midfielder Victor Loturi comes into the side, as Josh Sims drops to the bench, along with club captain Keith Watson and fellow defender George Harmon. Loturi and Harmon are both making their first league starts.
