  1. A new Dutch erapublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 2 September 2022

    Netherlands v Scotland (19:00)

Andries Jonkers takes charge of the Netherlands tonight for the first time.

A former assistant to Louis van Gaal at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, he knows what it takes to be in and around a big team.

It was a rather disappointing defence of their European Championship title in the summer for the Dutch.

Bowing out at the quarter-final stage following a 1-0 defeat by France in extra-time only prolonged the inevitability of boss Mark Parsons' departure.

But summer is over - well and truly here anyway - and a new dawn awaits for the Oranje Leeuwinnen.

  2. Beattie captains in Corsie's absencepublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 2 September 2022

    Netherlands v Scotland (19:00)

Not only is Jen Beattie matching up against her Arsenal teammate, Vivianne Miedema, she will be donning the captain's armband too as her central-defensive partner, Rachel Corsie, takes her place on the bench.

SWPL1 stars Lee Gibson, Nicola Docherty and Kelly Clark all start.

Martha Thomas, who netted twice in the impressive 4-0 victory over Ukraine in June, leads the line again.

  3. Magnificent Miedemapublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 2 September 2022

    Netherlands v Scotland (19:00)

One player doesn't make a team, but it's pretty handy when Vivianne Miedema is around.

Just the 94 goals in 113 international appearances... just.

Insane numbers for an insanely talented 26-year-old.

If that hasn't spooked you enough, Lyon's Danielle van de Donk will operate behind Miedema and cover every blade of grass.

The experienced Jill Roord is on the left flank, and on the right there is Ellen Jansen, who netted her first international goal at the Tony Macaroni Arena back in 2016.
