Robert Lewandowski scored again for Barcelona as his side won away at Mallorca to move top of La Liga.

Lewandowski grabbed his ninth goal in seven league matches since his summer move from Bayern Munich with an excellent low, curling finish into the corner.

Mallorca had a chance to equalise but Jaume Costa was denied by a superb save from goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Ter Stegen also made another fine stop, keeping out Antonio Sanchez's powerful effort as Barcelona claimed the win.

Barcelona started the day second in La Liga and have now won six and drew one of their seven games. The victory takes them above Real Madrid, who have a 100% record from six matches and will return to the top if they beat Osasuna at home on Sunday.

He crossed the ball and instantly reached for his quad and looked in a bit of pain as he went off, with Brian Cufre a chance to be Mallorca's hero.

Sergio Basquets gets himself into the referee's notebook thanks to a pullback on Mallorca's Iddrisu Baba.

Robert Lewandowski is on the hunt for a second, only to be denied by Mallorca substitute Dani Rodriguez who runs the ball out of play for a Barca corner.

That finds its way to Jordi Alba outside the penalty area and his shot is harmlessly over the crossbar.

Home goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic nearly plays himself into trouble with a heavy touch as Robert Lewandowski charged down on him.

Luckily for Rajkovic he keeps possession and eventually can clear, miles out of his penalty area playing as a make-shift left back.

A double change for Barcelona as Pedri and Raphinha come on, with Franck Kessie and Ansu Fati coming off.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has only conceded one goal in his six and a half La Liga games so far this season - that's 500 minutes of league action and counting without conceding.

He was beaten twice though in Barca's 2-0 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich in September.

Barcelona have their first chance of the second half as Ousmane Dembele pulls it back for Franck Kessie and he strikes at goal from outside the penalty area but can only drag it wide.

Mallorca have attempted the last six shots in this game as Barcelona have not had an attempt since the 32nd minute. Barca still lead 1-0 though.
