  11. 'It is clear, Mbappe is staying' - PSGpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 11 October 2022

    PSG

PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos to RMC Sport: "It's a categorical denial on our part. Whether he's happy or not, that's a question you have to ask him. It's a very personal question. I see Kylian working. Kylian is an extraordinary professional. For example, he played sick in the last match in Reims, he made the effort for the team. I see Kylian arriving with his teammates, happy every day and with a huge desire to work.

"I'm very surprised because I'm with Kylian Mbappe every day and he never asked me, and I just asked the president, he never asked to leave in January. I don't think that he thinks about it because if he thinks about it, he's going to tell me. He never told me, I know he never told the president, that he wants to leave in January. It is information, it's not a statement, you have to be very clear, which comes out a few hours before a very, very important match for us. It's important to come in front of the press and that's why I'm here. We have rumours every day, it's normal when you have three of the five most important players in the world. It's normal to have rumours.

"In my opinion yes [he's staying in January]. He never said anything to me. Or to me... And I just asked the president the question. For me it's clear that Kylian Mbappe is staying to follow his contract with PSG."

    FT: Copenhagen 0-0 Manchester City

    Manchester City

Manchester City's Rodri, who had a goal disallowed, tells BT Sport: "With a very early red card, it's difficult for the team but we fight until the end and we had chances.

"We wanted to come here to win and it's frustrating. It's an important point and we keep going. We want to win but how we played 10 against 11 we can't be sad."

On his goal being disallowed, he said: "A bit frustrating, of course. No-one realised what is happening, they said it was a handball, I don't know if it was intentional. It was a mess.

"Then we had a penalty, we miss, then the red card and it completely changes the game."

Borussia Dortmund will go through with Manchester City if they beat Sevilla.

The other game sees Dinamo Zagreb host Salzburg in the Champions League's closest group. Zagreb are bottom but would overtake leaders Salzburg with a win.

AC Milan v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea have not won on their last seven visits to Italy in the Champions League.

Their last success there came in November 2003 when Claudio Ranieri's men thumped Lazio 4-0.

That came just months after Roman Abramovich's takeover of the club and changing the face of English football with a £150m splurge on new signings.

Summer acquisitions including Adrian Mutu, Juan Sebastian Veron, Hernan Crespo, Damien Duff, Glen Johnson, Wayne Bridge and Claude Makelele were all involved in that game.

  20. 'Potter couldn't have asked for a better week'published at 19:46 British Summer Time 11 October 2022

AC Milan v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Will Faulks, Talk Chelsea, external

Two wins with two teams - Graham Potter couldn't have asked for a better week as Chelsea manager.

Success at Crystal Palace on 1 October had come in the last minute after a mediocre showing, but the victories in midweek and on Saturday were far more complete - and the fact that seven out of 10 outfield players changed between the matches made it all the more impressive.

Neither AC Milan nor Wolves put up much of a fight, but Chelsea saw them off professionally. They scored three, conceded none, and were then able to take it easier and make substitutions. Those changes meant important minutes for squad players and youngsters, adding their excitement to the rapidly growing positive feeling around the club.

The difficulty will go up a notch this week with two away games, but the improving mood means confidence at the training ground and in the stadium is growing.

It can all be shattered easily, but there's a strong sense that if the new head coach can keep winning his way through these first few months, the doubts about his credentials will evaporate.

He will have earned the trust of the players and fans to go with the support from the ownership which appointed him.
