  1. See you tomorrowpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 1 October 2022

There is less than 24 hours to go before the Championship returns, though.

And there is another new manager in the dugout as Slaven Bilic takes his new Watford team to Stoke for a midday kick-off.

Thanks for your company today. Hopefully we'll see you again tomorrow.

  2. Norwich cut Blades' lead to one pointpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 1 October 2022

Sheffield United's lead at the top has been cut to just a single point after they were held 1-1 by Birmingham.

That is because Teemu Pukki's goal was enough for a slender victory for Norwich at Blackpool.

There were contrasting fortunes for the clubs who made managerial changes. Cardiff earned a creditable 1-1 draw at home to Burnley under interim Mark Hudson but Huddersfield's new permanent boss, Mark Fotheringham, watched his new charges well beaten in a 3-1 loss at Reading.

While Rotherham, in their first game since the departure of manager Paul Warne to Derby, were beaten 2-0 at home by Wigan.

There were home wins for Coventry and Blackburn and away successes for QPR and Swansea. And no prizes for guessing the score in Preston's trip to Sunderland - 0-0!
