That's just about does us for tonight.

Another stellar night in the English Football League with drama across the pyramid.

The good news is that we get to do this all again tomorrow when the Championship returns.

We'll see you then. For now, thank you for joining us.

What a win for Hartlepool, 2-1 victors over Doncaster Rovers. The Pools entered the game winless in their last 11 league outings.

Stevenage beat Sutton United 3-0 to move up to second, above Northampton, who lost 1-0 to Walsall. It's the Saddlers first win since the second week of the season and their victory ends the Cobblers five game unbeaten run.

Meanwhile, Swindon Town continued their recent run of good form with a steady 1-0 win over Newport County, Luke Jephcott with the winner. That extends their unbeaten run of midweek wins at home to 11 games.

Plymouth extend their advantage at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over rivals Sheffield Wednesday, thanks to an injury time goal from Sam Cosgrove.

Harvey Macadam's goal is the difference as Fleetwood win 1-0 at Burton, while Ryan Broom's late goal saw Cheltenham win 1-0 at home to Bolton.

Ipswich move four points clear in second place with a 3-0 against Cambridge, as Kyle Edwards scored twice in the last 15 minutes.

    Cardiff City 1-0 Blackburn Rovers

A big three points for Cardiff and interim manager Mark Hudson, as the Bluebirds take all three points away against Blackburn.

Mark Harris' super strike seven minutes from normal time gave his side a deserved lead, while Ryan Allsop saved an injury time penalty to deny George Hirst a late equaliser, after bringing down Dominic Hyam.

    Redemption for Allsop!

After being judged to have given away the penalty, the Cardiff keeper redeems himself by cooly and calmly saving George Hirst's spot-kick seconds later.

Hirst steps up but Allsop dives the right way to his left and keeps it out and surely saves all three points for his team.

Drama in Cardiff as the referee awards Blackburn a penalty right at the death a foul on Dominic Hyam by Ryan Allsop.

Talk about a frantic finale to this match.

    Honours even.

Norwich had led through Grant Hanley but they miss the chance to go top of the Championship after Jeff Hendrick equalised for Reading.

The Royals remain third. The Canaries stay second.

    Luton Town 3-3 Huddersfield

Chaotic but enjoyable. Huddersfield's David Kasumu is shown a second yellow card in injury time.

They battled so hard for that draw and the first point for new manager Mark Fotheringham. His side played so hard for him tonight.

Luton looked like the better team with more quality in possession and going forward. But they couldn't recreate the magic of the first half.

The lights start to dim at a misty Kenilworth Road.

    Reading 1-1 Norwich

Can either of these sides find a late winner?

Jeff Hendrick, having already equalised for Reading, fires goalbound but his effort goes over the bar.

    Mark Harris (83 mins)

What an absolute stunner of a shot!

Substitute Mark Harris sends a right-footed flier from the top of the box and smashes it into the top corner beyond Thomas Kaminski. The Blackburn keeper had no chance of stopping it.

    Cardiff City 0-0 Blackburn Rovers

We're creeping into the final 10 minutes in South Wales and still nothing to speak of in the way of goals.

Joe Ralls plays a spot-on pass over the top to Callum Robinson but the ball hits his arm and the referee blows his whistle against him.

All over and Sheffield United are defeated for only the second time in the Championship this season. Just their second home defeat in 21 games, too.

QPR, thanks to Chris Willock's goal, move up to fourth courtesy of the win.

Plenty of chances, nothing in the way of goals, mind. Sunderland and Blackpool share the points.

    Bristol City 0-0 Coventry City

Bristol City v CoventryImage source, PA Media

No goals to speak of as Bristol City and Coventry take a point each.

Plenty of chances at each end of the pitch yet both teams were lacking that bit of quality in the final third to turn one of their efforts into a goal.

Five minutes added on at Bramall Lane.

QPR will go fourth if it stays like this. Sheffield United's unbeaten run will come to an end but they will remain top of the Championship.

Three minutes of added time and it looks like we're heading to a goalless draw. I'm not sure that either team has done quite enough to say that we really deserve the three points this evening.

Doncaster had levelled at Hartlepool through Bobby Faulkner's sweet volley from outside the box, but Wes McDonald has put the hosts back ahead.

Stevenage are running away from Sutton United and have extended their lead to 3-0.

Swindon Town have broken the deadlock and are 1-0 up on Newport County.

League strugglers Walsall are hanging-on against second placed Northampton 1-0. If the Saddlers pull off the upset, they will break the Exiles five game win streak and claim their first victory since the second game of the season.
