    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Another decent chance for Arsenal to grab their second.

Katie McCabe smashes into the sidenetting from a tight angle, leaving Kim Little - who is positioned in space in the middle - annoyed she wasn't picked out.

Could Arsenal be left to rue these missed chances?

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 54 mins

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Wave after wave of Arsenal attacks now.

Twice the Gunners hit the woodwork in a matter of seconds. Somehow Reading survive!

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

This going in would have silenced the Reading crowd.

An Arsenal corner is cleared only as far as McCabe, who slides as she shoots. Not the cleanest shot, but it turns out to be a fine pass to Vivianne Miedema.

She pounces quickly but can't turn it past Reading keeper Jackie Burns.

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

A scrappy start to the second half as the voices of the players echo around the stadium.

The Reading fans are trying their best to encourage their team, but it's difficult at the moment.

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Reading sub Faye Bryson has only been on the pitch for a couple of minutes and she's already in the wars. Bryson is bumped off the ball by Beth Mead in a 50-50 and seems to have hurt her hip.

A painful one but doubt it'll affect her continued participation.

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Solid defending from Reading. The corner is headed clear and then a shot from Kim Little is charged down.

  7. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are dialled straight away. Viv Miedema picks up possession in acres of space, drives forward and lashes a shot goalwards. The ball takes a big chunk of a Reading body and loops out for a corner.

Oh. Emma Mukandi might have been looking more comfortable to some, but Reading boss Kelly Chambers - who is munching on what look like strawb sweets - has taken her captain off at half-time.

Not sure if there is an injury issue there.

On runs Faye Bryson in her place.

How do we see this second half panning out, folks?

Feels difficult to see anything other than an away win, IMO.

Reading have been much more organised and resolute defensively, but have offered next to nothing up top.

And Arsenal have so much ability in the business end that you'd think more chances will come their way as Reading bodies and minds tire.

    Let's find out...

[Reading] have held their own. 1-0, it could have gone a lot worse. They have played really well up to now. They can't be too disheartened by their first-half performance.

All Arsenal so far, but they only have one goal to show for it.

Stina Blackstenius' clinical strike separates the sides as the Gunners are halfway to earning a third straight win.

The corner comes to nothing and could that give Reading the impetus to launch one final attack?

The home side have lacked a final ball - or any ball in the last third - and their problems are illustrated with another wayward pass in the dying embers of the half.

Still Arsenal press. A cross from the right is flicked wide of the Reading goal - and it was a Reading head. Corner.

First, Reading have more defending to do.

Arsenal's Kim Little wriggles into space and flashes a shot across the face of goal.
