    PSG 0-1 Chelsea

We're going to have a brief stoppage as Ann-Katrin Berger calls for the physio to look at her hand.

It looks like she's bent her finger back as she tried to claim a corner. She got barged by team-mate Millie Bright as she tried to take it, so that probably didn't help!

    PSG 0-1 Chelsea

It's been a good week for England defender Millie Bright.

She was voted 15th in the Ballon d'Or on Monday night and now she's scored her second goal of the season on Thursday.

The hosts are pushing for an immediate response, but yes, you guessed it, Erin Cuthbert is there to tidy up again.

    Breakthrough!

This is an absolutely lovely finish from centre-back Millie Bright. A corner is cleared, but then put back into the box by Erin Cuthbert. Bright gets free at the back post and hooks in on the volley from about six yards out.

PSG may be unhappy about that goal though. There was some debate about whether the initial corner should have been a goal kick.

    PSG 0-0 Chelsea

There is a decent crowd in the Stade Jean Bouin. There is plenty of singing and one of the PSG fans is banging a drum too.

Their side are yet to test Ann-Katrin Berger in the Chelsea goal. The visitors are doing a really good job of keeping Grace Geyoro, Kadidiatou Diani and Ramona Bachmann quiet.

    PSG 0-0 Chelsea

Niamh Charles is looking dangerous on the right wing for Chelsea.

She links up well with Sam Kerr and drives forward, but her cross is blocked behind for a corner.

The hosts get the first and second contact to clear but Chelsea recycle it a few times before Sophie Ingle is fouled on the left wing.

    PSG 0-0 Chelsea

Erin Cuthbert has been superb so far.

She does really well to harry Laurina Fazer behind and earn Chelsea a goal kick.

    First booking of the night.

It's for Chelsea centre-back Kadeisha Buchanan too.

The summer signing from Lyon, who has already won five Champions League titles, is turned by Kadidiatou Diani and just tugs her to the ground.

Does she need to do that on the half-way line? I'm not sure she does.

    PSG 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are really growing into this game.

Excellent distribution from Ann-Katrin Berger finds Guro Reiten on the left.

Her cross is dangerous enough, but is made by more dangerous by the excellent movement of Sam Kerr.

The Australia international gets in front of her marker, shifts the ball onto her left foot and drills towards goal, but it is well turned away by the feet of Sarah Bouhaddi.

    Ah, that's disappointing.

Guro Reiten curls straight into the PSG wall.

Erin Cuthbert has started this game really well for Chelsea.

She presses up high for the visitors and wins the ball back before being fouled.

    A dangerous free-kick from 22 yards out...

It has been quite scrappy and disjointed so far.

It doesn't look like the pitch at the Stade Jean Bouin is the best.

    That's good from Erin Cuthbert.

A cross from the right is blocked by Millie Bright and Scotland international Cuthbert out-strengths her opponent and drives forward with the loose ball for Chelsea.

To give you an idea of how close this game could be. PSG are currently ranked third in Uefa's club co-efficient, behind Lyon and Barcelona. Chelsea sit sixth, with Manchester City and Arsenal in seventh and eighth respectively.

We've already seen pictures of Denise Reddy and another member of the Chelsea coaching staff in the dugout. They both had ear phones in, so it appears they will be having regular communication with Emma Hayes.

  17. Chelsea 'have to find ways' to cope without Hayespublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 20 October 2022

    PSG v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

Tonight's game will be Chelsea's second game without head coach Emma Hayes, who is currently recovering after an emergency hysterectomy to deal with an "ongoing battle with endometriosis".

They beat Everton 3-1 in their first match without their inspirational leader on Sunday.

Captain Magdalena Eriksson said she was "gutted for Emma" and the team "miss having her around".

"I don't have to do more as a captain, we have a great team, everyone has stepped up and taken more responsibility," she explained.

"We have to find ways to handle this period without her. We also know we have Emma from home.

"Paul and Denise are relaying her messages, they are talking a lot. We know she is watching training from home. It is a good vibe in the team. We miss Emma as a character, but we find a way."

Former New Zealand defender Bex Smith on DAZN: "We saw an amazing match last night [with Arsenal beating Lyon 5-1] that I genuinely didn't expect and it does beg a question if it lays down a challenge for Chelsea now with them being the only other Women's Super League team in the competition."

"They have recruited to challenge in this competition."

  20. French superstars and ex Blues - PSG players to watchpublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 20 October 2022

    PSG v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

PSG might be without superstar France striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who has scored 137 goals in the past five seasons, with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in the Euros this summer, but they are still packed with talent.

If Chelsea are going to have any success tonight they will likely have to limit Grace Geyoro's impact from midfield. The 25-year-old has scored four goals in five league games this season and scored a first-half hat-trick for France against Italy in the Euros.

In Katato's absence we're seeing compatriot Kadidiatou Diani stand up. She's also scored four goals in the league this season, and has netted 60 times in the past four campaigns.

Chelsea could also be hurt by a couple of their ex players, with Switzerland's Ramona Bachmann and Netherlands midfielder Jackie Groenen part of the PSG starting XI.

Bachmann was at Chelsea between 2017 and 2020, scoring twice in their FA Cup final win over Arsenal in 2018, while Groenen, who has also spent time at Manchester United, was at the Blues for just over a year in 2014.
