    Aberdeen 0-0 Hibernian

Aberdeen seeing plenty of the ball in the early exchanges at Pittodrie.

Hibernian are playing in their fairly retro pale green away kit, which puts one in mind of some of their 1980s outfits.

    Kilmarnock v Livingston (19:45)

At Rugby Park, Kilmarnock can close the gap on Livingston, who are ninth, to one point with victory this evening.

Livi, who beat Killie 1-0 in September, have a game in hand and the carrot for them is to draw level on points with St Mirren in fifth.

Both sides lost last time out so will be keen to get a positive result tonight.

With just a point separating Hibernian in third from their fourth-placed opponents, the outcome in the Granite City could provide an intriguing pointer as to how the league season will go for these two sides.

And, as expected after recent developments, the boos ring out around Pittodrie as the name of Hibernian defender Ryan Porteous is read out by the stadium announcer.

  7. Hibs' Boyle 'may be back before World Cup'published at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    Aberdeen v Hibernian (19:30)

Hibernian head coach Lee Johnson tells BBC Scotland that Martin Boyle’s injury is "a huge blow".

“It happens in football though, players get injured,” he said. “That’s what you’ve got your squad for. Next man in gets an opportunity.

“The injury is difficult to take, particularly at this moment. It’s a minor joint issue and we’re just offloading that to see how he responds.

"He might get one game with us but he’ll head out to the World Cup if selected.”

  8. Goodwin expects 'a good game'published at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    Abderdeen v Hibernian (19:45)

Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: “Really happy with work done behind the scenes with legal teams and we’re really pleased we got the ban reduced significantly.

"Here at home it's a bit easier, I can be a lot closer than last game at Tannadice. It's something we just have to deal with.

"Players are preparing for the game. We have a great backroom staff and I can get messages to them a lot easier this time around."

On whether or not the reverse fixture's fallout will play a part this evening, he adds: "Not for the players. They’re very professional. It’ll be a good game tonight, I don’t think there’s a lot between the teams.

"We’ll have a really good home support and I'm led to believe Hibs are bring a good travelling support too. It should generate a good atmosphere and that the football gives something to entertain."

  9. Grudge match?published at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    Aberdeen v Hibernian (19:30)

Aberdeen and Hibernian meet for the first time since the former's manager ran himself into trouble over comments about Hibs' Ryan Porteous.

Goodwin highlighted Porteous' "conning" of referees after the defender won a penalty in Hibernian's 3-1 win over the Dons in September. The incident also led to the sending off of Aberdeen's Liam Scales, who received a second booking.

The Dons boss was initially given an immediate six-match touchline ban but that was reduced to three on appeal, with one game already served. Therefore, Goodwin will be in the stand this evening and on Tuesday away to Livingston.

Last season, Porteous was sent off for conceding a spot-kick as Aberdeen beat Hibs 3-1 at Pittodrie.

Will it be the same headline makers this evening?
