It's a game of two halves, and games like tonight don't half remind you of that fact.

Sunderland will be frustrated to have had the game so comfortably in their hands, given their opening 45 dominance.

Yet, Carlos Corberan made a habit of making changes on the hoof and getting results at Huddersfield, and did the same tonight.

Tom Rogic and Daryl Dike added another dimension to the likes of Jed Wallace, and the trio combined to deliver three huge points for West Brom in their bid to pick themselves off the deck.

The World Cup semis continue this week of course, so keep across them with us on BBC Sport, and we'll be back in the Championship at the weekend, on Friday to be precise, with Birmingham City entertaining Reading.

Until then. Cheers for joining us. Good night.

    FT: Sunderland 1-2 West Brom

It's a happy night for Daryl Dike who after injury so early in the campaign, his first appearance, has now returned from his thigh issues and added a precious goal.

His first in the Baggies colours. The first of many Carlos Corberan will be pinning his hopes no doubt.

What a turnaround for West Bromwich Albion against Sunderland, who put a tepid first half behind them in freezing conditions to deliver a 2-1 win - their fourth in a row.

They climb away from the drop zone, while Sunderland miss the chance to chew away at the deficit between them and the play-off pack.

Amad Diallo's penalty was the reward for Sunderland's opening 45 endeavours, but Tom Rogic's wonder strike and a super Daryl Dike header gave the Baggies and Carlos Corberan the win.

Aji Alese uses his bullet throw to try to get Sunderland downfield, but the West Brom defence foil that raid.

The ball is played up to Daryl Dike, who tussles with Luke O'Nien first with the ball and then without.

Carlos Corberan's side on course for a fourth win on the spin. What a restorative effect the Spaniard is having.

Sunderland keep coming though. No let-up.

Darnell Furlong has to guide a back-post cross out for the corner with Jack Clarke lurking.

    Time to deliver for Sunderland.

Sunderland yomp forward, but the cross to the back-post sails beyond Jack Clarke and out.

Tony Mowbray and old Ipswich team-mate Mark Venus are up and gesticulating in conversation. Frustration.

Daryl Dike has now scored his first goal in a West Brom shirt too, the USA international soared to guide in the header.

Martin Kelly replaces Jed Wallace. What an impact.

    Daryl Dike

Exquisite goal from West Brom with Daryl Dike turning this game on its head.

Tom Rogic bombed forward and slipped it down the line to the menacing Jed Wallace.

His cross arced into the near-post, and Dike darted into the gap to power past Anthony Patterson, who was stranded.

Did the ball go out as Wallace crossed it? Sunderland felt so. There will be angst about that call, and the pen just before it.

Amad Diallo scythed into the West Brom box again with a drop of the shoulder, a nutmeg and neat footwork, and again goes down under a West Brom challenge.

This time it's Adam Reach who is forced into desperation. No pen this time.

Sunderland fans were baying for the spot-kick.

As soon as I'd pressed publish on that last entry, Sunderland were handed a gift with a loose pass, Amad Diallo strode on, Jack Clarke dummied everyone with a glorious pass to find Dennis Cirkin in space on the left but the cross was blocked.

Despite further possession, Sunderland can't make the set-piece stick.

Baggies tails are up now, swarming forward with impetus on the back of the leveller.

    Now it's Sunderland back defending.

Tom Rogic, John Swift and Jed Wallace are just fluidly changing positions, making themselves difficult to pick up and chase down.

    It's a serious 13 minutes to go.

It had been threatening that, and in Tom Rogic and Daryl Dike it's two of the West Brom changes that have produced the reward.

Adam Reach marauds forward for West Brom on the left, but Lynden Gooch's tackle ensures he goes no further.

Sunderland make a change with Dennis Cirkin replacing Dan Neil.

    Tom Rogic

What a change from Carlos Corberan as Tom Rogic steps up to score an absolute corker to square things up.

West Brom recycled a cleared corner, Jed Wallace and John Swift exchanged a one-two which saw the ball whizzed in.

Daryl Dike brings it down, touches it back to Australia playmaker Rogic, who with the outside of his boot just curls it round the covering defenders and into the bottom right corner.

    Perfection.

Sunderland break themselves, Amad Diallo playing it to Jack Clarke on the left, but his effort can't squeeze through.

West Brom pour on, Jed Wallace bends into the back-post, up goes Adam Reach to crash a shot which deflects behind.

Dara O'Shea on the back of that is being patched up after he copped a stray shot from Danny Batth in a aerial tussle.

    Superb save from Anthony Patterson.

West Brom pile on pressure on the home goal, with Jack Clarke giving the ball away.

West Brom get the ball into midfield and find space in the Sunderland backline.

Tom Rogic slides a wonderful pass in for Brandon Thomas-Asante, who is denied by a smart touch.

The loose ball falls to Conor Townsend, who thrashes a stunning low drive which just slicks off the turf and wide.
