Says a lot about QPR's attacking output that that is about as close as they have come to a goal in quite some time.

Tim Iroegbunam, who started the game brightly but faded, is off and Luke Amos is on.

Just the 20 goals in 24 league games for Cardiff so far this season.

They had two big, big chances to break the deadlock this half through Kion Etete but the former Spurs man could not find the target.

One goal was enough for QPR to take all three points in Neil Critchley's first game in charge against Preston last week and he'll hope they can repeat the trick today.

He's made three changes to try and get some momentum going his side's way. Can they do the trick?

The home side are well on top here so it's absolutely NO surprise that the away side are making some changes.

Ilias Chair, fresh from being part of the Morocco squad that reached the World Cup semi-final, and Olamide Shodipo and Tyler Roberts, who were not, are on.

Lyndon Dykes, Chris Willock and Albert Adomah are off.

Cardiff go to their bench.

Jaden Philogene is off and Mark Harris is on.

Just as I say Cardiff need to take one of their chances the away side finally carve a chance of their own out.

Rob Dickie sends in a cross that Lyndon Dykes attacks well but can only head wide from about 15 yards out.

Not an easy chance by any stretch.

Quick bit of housekeeping.

QPR's Ethan Laird was booked for the visitors for fouling the enterprising Rubin Colwill a few moments before that missed Kion Etete shot for the home side.

The Bluebirds are right on top now but they have got to take one of these chances sooner rather than later.

Another big chance goes begging for the home side!

Cedric Kipre does well to send a deep cross back across the face of goal but Kion Etete absolutely leathers his shot over the bar.

Not sure what the players had at half-time but this is like a different game now.

Callum O'Dowda is nearly in down the Cardiff left but after taking a good first touch the second one rather bounces off him and it goes out for a goal-kick.

Should be 1-0!

Cardiff striker Kion Etete does really well to tee himself up about 10 yards out after Callum O'Dowda's cross eventually came into his path.

The former Tottenham player makes pretty decent contact with his shot but it flashes by the post.

Bright start to the second half from the home side.

A spell of pressure is brought to an end by an offside flag but that's more like it from Mark Hudson's men.

Okie dokie, the players are back out on the pitch and the second half is under way.

A win for the away side will send them back into the top six.

Sometimes stats don't tally with what we've seen on the pitch.

On this occasion they back up the fact we've seen very little final-third quality so far.

Cardiff are the league's lowest scorers and QPR haven't exactly been blessed with goals either - and it's showing...

Another chance for Cardiff striker Callum Robinson, this time he gathers the ball on the half-turn on the edge of the box but he is slightly off balance as he strikes the ball well over the bar.

Ryan Wintle's excellent curling cross finds Callum Robinson completely unmarked, in the middle of goal, but City's leading scorer is unable to add to his four goals as he gets his timing all wrong and fails to make a proper connection.

He did manage to successfully get his head into his hands seconds later, however.

Cardiff's Ryan Wintle is going to be walking a tightrope - already on a yellow for pulling back Tim Iroegbunam he has just conceded another free-kick for the same offence in a near identical spot.

This time Chris Willock's free-kick for QPR is straight at Ryan Allsop. It does mean we have a shot on target, however.
