I don't know what Burton and Lincoln players had for Christmas dinner yesterday and I probably shouldn't speculate... but whatever the Brewers had looks to have done the trick.

Wycombe have levelled it up at home to Bristol Rovers, midfielder David Wheeler with the goal.

    Sheffield United 0-0 Coventry

There haven't been any big early moments of note at Bramall Lane.

  11. League Two updatepublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

Just the one goal in League Two so far.

It's gone to Harrogate and striker Luke Armstrong.

They lead Grimsby 1-0 and could be on for a third straight win.

The bad weather and an FA Cup tie in between means that run actually stretches back to 19 November.

A corner from City's Kai Naismith is diverted onto the crossbar by a Baggies defender. The Robins are seeking to extend a 25-match, 60-year unbeaten run at home on Boxing Day, remember!

All is not well at Sheffield Wednesday just now, despite their lofty position.

The Owls started today in third and are unbeaten in 10 but they've drawn their past three to drop off the pace set by the top two.

Things not going any better today either, as they trail Fleetwood 1-0 through Shaun Rooney's crisp strike.

Elsewhere, struggling Burton are now 2-0 up at home to Lincoln City.

  20. Squad Goals League Two game of the daypublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Carlisle 0-0 Bradford

    Squad Goals

The winner of today's clash between Carlisle United and Bradford City at Brunton Park, or the hosts if it ends all square, can spend Boxing Day evening in League Two's top seven - but the appeal of the fixture doesn't end there.

The competitive nature of the EFL's basement tier is such that seven other teams are within six points of the play-off places, so even 15th-placed Tranmere and 14th-placed Grimsby could move within four points of the top seven, should the action in Cumbria end honours even - so this game really is the centrepiece of the play-off scramble.

Carlisle are hoping to start another unbeaten run, after their last one was ended at five games on Tuesday, after a 2-1 loss to promotion rivals Northampton - Paul Simpson's side will need to iron out those defensive imperfections lingering from midweek.

Bradford, meanwhile, are masters of the road having won six of their 10 away league games, as Andy Cook returns to his old stomping ground as the league's joint-top goalscorer.

Reward for the victors will be high, but anyone down to 15th could profit from a share of the spoils if they hold their own side of the bargain.
