There's been plenty of goals and movement up and down the leagues tonight but the fun and games must come to an end at some point.

We'll be back tomorrow when the English Football League returns for more festive action.

We've got a handful of games to get stuck into as 2022 draws to a close.

But for now, thank you for joining us.

    Blackpool 1-2 Sheffield United

Sheffield United go joint-top on points with a solid win over a feisty Blackpool side who fought until the end.

The Blades had too much quality for the Seasiders who are left languishing at the bottom of the Championship table.

    Blackpool 1-2 Sheffield United

    A good spell from Blackpool.

Sonny Carey fires off a powerful, rising shot from a tight angle just inside the box on the nearside but it's parried away by the Blades keeper.

Gary Madine follows up with a header from the corner but it sails over the bar.

Just a few minutes of injury time left.

    WBA 2-0 Preston

Another great night for West Brom under Carlos Corberan.

    Seven wins in nine now.

A big festive crowd has seen a dominant display and a double from Okay Yokuslu has earned them another three points.

Baggies now only a point outside the top six.

    Blackpool 1-2 Sheffield United

Blackpool's James Husband tangles with Sheffield United's Anel Ahmedhodzic on the far side of the pitch as the ball rolls out of play.

Their teammates from both sides rush over to calm things down as the pair wrap their arms around each other like boxers in a clinch.

I though it was going to kick-off there like it did when these sides met earlier in the season and had multiple players sent off in a chaotic 3-3 draw.

    WBA 2-0 Preston

Very cosy for West Brom with Preston showing very little going forward.

Daryl Dike shoots narrowly wide from the left corner of the area that almost made it three for Albion.

A big win to try and revive Huddersfield's season.

    Blackburn 1-2 Middlesbrough

Despite taking the lead in the first half through Ryan Hedges, a second half collapse sees Middlesbrough come from behind to beat Blackburn.

John Buckley's sending off, in between Boro's two goals, caps off a miserable night for Blackburn who have now lost four of their past five games.

Meanwhile, Boro's fine form under Michael Carrick continues as they move up to sixth.

    Millwall 0-0 Bristol City

A game of two halves and certainly more entertaining than the scoreline would suggest.

Millwall on top in the opening 45 minutes but Bristol City stormed back in the second half and caused the home side problems.

    But it's goalless.

    A point each.

    Huddersfield 2-0 Rotherham

Michal Helik makes an excellent block for Huddersfield to prevent Chiedozie Ogbene's shot getting any further.

Rotherham have threatened since going 2-0 down but looking like the points going to the Terriers.
