    St Mirren 2-1 Aberdeen

    That is an absolute sitter.

Aberdeen should be level. A corner goes all the way to the back post but Ryan Duncan and Christian Ramirez get in each other's way and the younger striker heads it wide.

    Incredible.

    St Mirren 2-1 Aberdeen

Trevor Carson has to save Jack MacKenzie's shot with his legs. Ten-man Aberdeen are going for this.

  3. RED CARD Jason Holt (Livingston)published at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Hibernian 0-0 Livingston

Livingston, who have looked really dangerous in attack, are now down to 10 men.

Jason Holt got the ball, but he flew in with plenty of force and caught Kevin Nisbet just above the ankle with his follow through.

That's a dangerous challenge, and a red card.

Ryan Porteous was quick to tell the Livingston midfielder just what he thought of him.

  4. Postpublished at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Hibernian 0-0 Livingston

This has been a really good game so far, with both teams looking to play.

Dylan Bahamboula has looked sharp for the visitors - he skips past Joe Newell after a little step-over, and then fizzes a shot just wide of David Marshall's post.

Then, at the other end, Elie Youan draws a decent save from Ivan Konovalov.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Dundee United 0-0 Hearts

Hearts are inches from the taking the lead.

Alex Cochrane swings a brilliant cross in, Lawrence Shankland gets something to it, but Mark Birighitti somehow gets a strong hand to it. Looking at the replay, he might have been just offisde, but it's a superb save from the Aussie.

  6. Postpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Hibernian 0-0 Livingston

First signs of life from Livingston as Bruce Anderson climbs highest to find the onrushing Andrew Shinnie.

However, just as things start to open up for Shinnie, he runs straight into Anderson and the pair go down in a heap.

  7. 'Satisfied Celts'published at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Celtic 4-1 St Johnstone

    Jane Lewis
BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park

The Celtic fans have enjoyed plenty of festive cheers this afternoon and there is now a quiet sense of contentment from the fans in front of the media section. Not much noise apart from the section housing the Green Brigade, but certainly an air of their team being back on it in terms of performance.

  8. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    St Mirren 2-1 Aberdeen

    Incredible!

Ylber Ramadani clatters the bar with a shot from inside the box. Aberdeen so close to an unlikely leveller.

  9. Postpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Dundee United 0-0 Hearts

Hearts respond well to that early blow, with Andy Halliday finally finding Barrie McKay in space on the edge of the box but Mark Birighitti is just about able to hold on to the shot.

  10. Postpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Celtic 4-1 St Johnstone

Aaron Mooy makes way for David Turnbull in the Celtic midfield while last week's double goalscorer for St Johnstone, Ali Crawford is on for Graham Carey.

  11. CLOSE!published at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    St Mirren 2-1 Aberdeen

St Mirren should be out of sight.

Declan Gallagher has one header cleared off the line by Liam Scales, and then puts another one over from just a few yards out.

  12. Postpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Dundee United 0-0 Hearts

The worst possible start for Hearts. Craig Halkett was shepherding the ball back to Craig Gordon and jarred his knee in the turf.

He's in real pain and the stretcher is now on the pitch. Absolutely devastating for the defender, who's missed most of this season with a hamstring problem.

Kye Rowles is his replacement - not bad, as they come.

  13. CLOSE!published at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Hibernian 0-0 Livingston

A massive chance goes begging early on at Easter Road.

Kevin Nisbet gets in behind far too easily, and has a clear run at goal, but the Scotland international shoots straight at Ivan Konovalov.

    Should have scored...

  14. CLOSE!published at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Celtic 4-1 St Johnstone

Reo Hatate's bid for a hat-trick, though, is not dead yet and again the makeshift right-back finds himself with a shot at goal, but just fires wide.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

The matches at Easter Road and Tannadice are just starting...

  16. 'Aberdeen implosion in crazy encounter'published at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    St Mirren 2-1 Aberdeen

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at SMISA Stadium

    This match is simply crazy.

Three spot kicks now and yet more drama after Jonah Ayunga missed handing Aberdeen a little hope when they looked finished.

St Mirren will feel their lead is deserved but you can't help wonder how much Aberdeen have contributed to their own collapse here.

Captain Anthony Stewart started the ball rolling with a moment of hesitancy that led to his red card and a penalty.

For the second, it's again a little bit of uncertainty that ends up with another rash moment and another spot kick.

For the third, it's again so simple with the defence cut wide open before another penalty concession. The miss was a massive let off.

Managers get the criticism but it is fair to point out some of Jim Goodwin's squad have shown quite incredible naivety and terrible decision-making.

No Christmas hat-trick for Kyogo as he makes way for Giorgos Giakoumakis.

  18. Continuity important for Hearts bosspublished at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Dundee United v Hearts (14:00)

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson speaks to BBC Sportsound: "The incentive is always to win football matches at Hearts. We've got a couple thousand coming here today, it's important we put on a performance and bring the energy. I'm sure our fans will bring it, too.

"We've got a lot of competition for places, we're starting to get guys back. Continuity is important in football, also when you play well you keep the jersey. It's something we should be trying to do.

"The league is very tight. United have a good squad and I know a number of players from my time here. I don't expect them to be down the bottom for very long."

  19. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    St Mirren 2-1 Aberdeen

A dreadful penalty from Jonah Ayunga is kept out by the feet of Kelle Roos. A trundler down the middle.

Aberdeen are still in the game, just.

GOAL Celtic 4-1 St Johnstonepublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Drey Wright

A brilliant move from St Johnstone is rounded off by Drey Wright.

Joe Hart makes a strong double-save from Stevie May and Wright's initial attempt, but at the second bite, he fires in.

A consolation goal or the beginning of a Christmas miracle revival?
