  1. Johnson reveals VAR issues at Easter Roadpublished at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Hibernian v Livingston (14:00)

Hibs manager Lee Johnson has been talking to Sportsound ahead of kick-off at Easter Road, where there is currently a problem with VAR.

"There's a bit of a technical issue in terms of reporting the pictures back to [the referee]," Johnson said.

"It's working here, it's working there, but that connection between the VAR centre and Easter Road isn't working at the moment. If that changes VAR will be on, if it doesn't then we'll continue without it.

"The law of averages says we'll get that bit of luck at some point, and hopefully it's today. We want to win this game properly, playing our way, nice and aggressive, on the front foot.

"We can play a five comfortably, and Ryan [Porteous] can step in, drop in, or roll out given his technical quality."

  2. HALF-TIME - St Mirren 1-1 Aberdeenpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    Well, that was entertaining.

Matty Kennedy's brilliant goal put Aberdeen in front, and they were in control despite not creating much more.

Then, a horrible touch from Anthony Stewart allowed Jonah Ayunga to nip in and tackle him, and then the Aberdeen captain pulled him to the deck.

Stewart was dismissed and Saints got a penalty after a VAR check. Mark O'Hara's penalty hit the post and came back off Kelle Roos and trickled into the net.

    All square.

  3. HALF-TIME Celtic 3-0 St Johnstonepublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

Reo Hatate got the festive fun underway at Celtic Park with a deflected strike from the edge of the box.

Kyogo Furuhashi's double, both from right in front of goal, were much neater moves.

Celtic fans will be driving home for Christmas very happy this afternoon if this level of performance continues in the second half.

For the visitors, they haven't had a lot to cheer about. Stevie May and Nicky Clark are a bit starved up top.

    St Mirren 1-1 Aberdeen

Credit to St Mirren who have clearly looked to unsettle Aberdeen's defence. They got there and are now in charge.

There's an obvious fragility with the Dons and again it has been exposed brutally.

Luck also plays a role and Jim Goodwin must wonder what he's done to deserve the complete lack of it he is currently experiencing.

Mark O'Hara's penalty diverted back off the post and into the net off Kelle Roos.

All of a sudden it's looking like a long afternoon for Aberdeen after taking the early initiative.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    St Mirren 1-1 Aberdeen

St Mirren should be in front here.

Curtis Main stands a ball up the back post, and Jonah Ayunga has a free header six yards out, but Kelle Roos gets across to push the ball over.

That's three goals for Kyogo in four days, and they're all identical. Just a run across at the front post, ball along the deck, clipped over the goalkeeper. They're really good finishes.

The league's top scorer won't score many easier than that!

A Christmas nightmare for Aberdeen, with Duk on the deck following a late tackle from Ethan Erhahon?

The St Mirren midfielder is booked. Duk is limping heavily, his ankle looks in bother.

He's off for now. But after a few stretches, comes back on.

    Celtic 2-0 St Johnstone

Celtic are looking sharp this afternoon, both goals proof of that. The first a quick break of play with Reo Hatate not hanging around in bursting forward, while Kyogo's awareness and movement for their second demonstrated a different kind of readiness. Celtic making this look very easy indeed.

  20. 'Another high quality goal for Dons'published at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 24 December 2022

    St Mirren 0-1 Aberdeen

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at SMISA Stadium

That is exactly what Aberdeen needed.

Matty Kennedy had already fired a warning just prior to his thunderous opener. It was an absolute beauty.

For all that has happened this week, Aberdeen have scored some top quality goals in their last two games.

That's taken individual responsibility, confidence and belief to make something happen.

The next step is to build on that and not take a step back.
