That's it, Eric Dier's interview with the media is over. Well actually he's still talking to journalists but you're not allowed to know what he is saying until 22:00 GMT...

Eric Dier: "Last season after Antonio Conte arrived that was some of the best football I've played - and it has carried into this season. I'm enjoying every mintue of working with him. He's a special manager."

Eric Dier: "I'd like to think you can enjoy yourself without alcohol. It's up to us to bring the entertainment. It's up to us to bring great football. That can create a great atmosphere in the stadium."

  5. Postpublished at 10:43 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2022

Eric Dier: "I'd be lying if I said that didn't cross my mind [that he might not be in England contention again]. When I missed out on Euro 2020 squad that was one of the worst moments of my career. I'm grateful to be here now. I'm very proud of myself how I managed to fight my way back in."

  6. Postpublished at 10:40 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2022

Eric Dier: "There's a great atmosphere in the hotel. We're extremely lucky, extremely spoiled - we have everything we need. A lot of the boys know each other a long time. In international football that atmosphere and camaradarie is vital."

Eric Dier: "If there is a penalty shootout and I'm on the pitch, I would never shy away from that."

Eric Dier: "It's extremely difficult for us as players. We know these topics are going to be addressed. It's a difficult situation.

"When the World Cup was awarded to Qatar in 2010, I was 16 at the time. It's difficult for me to talk on it. As players we have no say on where we play.

"Those decisions are made by people way above us. We're the ones who end up sitting here having to answer these questions.

"I carry the values I've been given by my family and those who educated me. We've been here a very short time. For me it's important to live this experience. At that point I'll have a better idea what to say on it.

"A lot of things that are disappointing have happened. As a team we carry values wherever we go - but we respect everywhere we go."

  9. Postpublished at 10:28 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2022

Eric Dier: "It's a unique situation for us. In some ways it's quite nice. Maybe not for the coaches and managers it's not ideal. From a player's point of view, the quick turarnound is nice. We're here and just getting straight tinto it. I'm quite impatient.

"There are other aspects that aren't so great with injuries when they wouldn't usually have missed a tournament.

    "I'm very excited to start."

Fifa president Gianni Infantino has been speaking in a long press conference this morning.

Among many things, he has accused the west of hypocrisy around their criticism of the issues.

The Swiss opened by saying: "Today I have strong feelings. Today I feel Qatari, I feel Arab, I feel African, I feel gay, I feel disabled, I feel a migrant worker."
