"England team very strong in that area though and scored lots of goals with quick counter-attacks. They also have many other qualities in terms of technical ability, capacity to score goals and being dangerous on set pieces.

Lloris on Harry Kane: "We have a very strong relationship. We have been playing together for nine years and know each other very well on and off the pitch. I only have positive things to say. He's a very important player for the club and indeed for the England team as well.

"He's a real leader, an example for his team-mates and he is a top player. He's been decisive for his club and very often he makes the difference and like all of the players on Saturday, he will be determined to try and get his team through to the next round.

"Obviously for Harry or the other English players, they will be analysing their penalties. Then, it is all about feeling, all about instinct that you get during the match.

"Before you get to a penalty shootout, it is the time to make the difference on the pitch. We'll see. Anything can become decisive in what will be a big game.

"We have to be ready for every scenario."

Lloris on the England v France rivalry: "My two last children were born in England, my daughters have grown up there. There is a rivalry between England and France, two major footballing nations. They are two strong teams.

"As players we need to make sure we are up to a quarter-final at the World Cup, regardless of who we are playing. England are ambitious; they are here to win the World Cup and we have to prepare."

Lloris on whether France have an advantage because they have won the World Cup: "To be honest, if we compare both sides, there were more English players at the World Cup in Russia than French players.

"If you look at the English squad, they were semi-finalists, runners-up at the last Euros. They have had a real progression and I believe this team is getting mature and ready to compete for trophies. They were a bit unlucky at the last Euros. They are here to win.

"In our side, there were a lot of changes with a new generation of players. They are ready to compete as all play in best clubs in Europe.

"We have a good mixture of young and experienced players. We try to develop step-by-step to become stronger and have to make sure we are ready to challenge England.

"It will be a big battle. There is everything for a big game and it's up to the players to perform."

Some of us play with them and train with them on a daily basis and if we can help with any particular knowledge then of course we will do that."

On set pieces: "Of course that's a strength. They're very tall and have players who deliver very well. I think that every little detail will count so we'll have to be very strong. In our attack we also have what it takes to make it difficult for them."
