Charlton are knocked out of the FA Cup during a week to forget for the League One side.

Results haven't been there in the league, manager Ben Garner was sacked on Tuesday and the search for his replacement is only just beginning.

A lot for Charlton fans to ponder on the long trip back home to London tonight.

League Two Stockport pull off the latest FA Cup upset, dumping Charlton - from League One - out of the competition.

Stockport got as far as the third round last season, but were knocked out by Premier League West Ham.

This time, they've got a tie with a more equal opponent - league rivals Walsall - and have the luxury of it being at Edgeley Park again.

Will Collar is the man of the night, scoring a hat-trick as Stockport secure their place in the FA Cup third round with a 3-1 win over Charlton.

Ben Hinchliffe might have had a mare early on when that first Charlton goal went in, but the Stockport keeper has had little to do since then.

Charlton haven't had a shot on target the whole second half and only one the entire match.

Stockport are still looking for more goals.

Ollie Crankshaw gets in behind and sends a low cross into the box, which Richard Chin diverts behind for a corner.

The corner only gets cleared as far as Callum Cramps - who's just come on - and he takes his chances with a volley but it flies just behind the post.

Stockport take advantage to make a triple change with hat-trick hero Will Collar, Myles Hippolyte and Ryan Croasdale all taken off.

Callum Camps, Calum MacDonald and Cody Johnson come on to see out the match.

Out of nothing, Charlton almost pull a goal back.

Jack Payne gets his head on the end of a cross from the right but he can't quite direct it on target.

That just about sums up Charlton's night.

Stockport are barely letting Charlton breathe when they get the ball.

It may be 3-1 but the hosts are still pressing up the pitch whenever they get the chance to break forward.

It's been a night to forget in almost every way for Charlton who have looked lost going forward and shaky at the back all evening.

Substitute Ollie Crankshaw wins Stockport a corner and Charlton again are having to defend their box.

The Stockport fans are singing loudly now, they know they're just a few minutes away from reaching the third round of the FA Cup and a home match against their League Two rivals Walsall.

What a 12 months it's been for the club.

George Dobson brings down Ollie Crankshaw in the box and there's no doubts it's a penalty. The referee points straight to the spot.

Zach Mitchell slides in late on Will Collar and the referee has no hesitations about reaching for a card.

Another change with Tyreece Campbell off and Corey Blackett-Taylor on for Charlton.

Charlton's two substitutions have certainly seemed to have had a positive effect.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi almost gets on the end of a long ball over the top, between two defenders, as Charlton look to create more of a threat going forward.

Not a massive surprise as Macauley Southam-Hales is taken off in Stockport's first change of the night. He hasn't seemed quite right since that fall earlier in the half.
