It's a Brentford debut for Germany Under-21 striker Kevin Schade, who has joined the Bees on loan from Freiburg earlier this week. Off goes Keane Lewis-Potter with Josh Dasilva also being replaced, by Vitaly Janelt.

For West Ham Said Benrahma, who had such a great spell with the Bees before moving to the Hammers, is on in place of Tomas Soucek.

There has been lapses in concentration from Newcastle. They have done OK but just a little bit slow and they haven't got into their groove in the final third.

They have made a few mistakes as well, giving Sheffield Wednesday a few chances. You have to start taking your chances because you never know how it's going to go.

Newcastle have played well enough up until the final third. They've created some really good chances, particularly down the right hand side, Javier Manquillo and Matt Ritchie with Alexander Isak running in behind. Cameron Dawson has been superb, pulling off some great saves.

That has been Newcastle's only downfall, they should have scored at least twice.

I think Sheffield Wednesday will be happy that half-time has come. They were looking a bit ragged, Newcastle had started cutting through them. They can regroup now and I'm sure there will be substitutes early in the second half.

Sheffield Wednesday have given a good account of themselves, they're carrying a threat - they just ran out of steam a bit. They do have certain areas where they can exploit Newcastle. They need a bit more from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Josh Windass. If they can come into the game and help Michael Smith a bit up front, there could be chances for them.

But Newcastle have been the better side and as the game goes on I see them pushing Wednesday further back. Substitutes might be the key because Newcastle have a very strong bench.

Both sides very evenly matches and it's goalless at the break.

Brentford's Yoane Wissa wins a corner with Lucas Paqueta covering well and sliding in to send the ball behind. West Ham need a couple of attempts to clear the set-piece, which Paqueta does with a good, old-fashioned hoof up field.

Sheffield Wednesday's Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is the first man into the referee's book for a late challenge on Sean Longstaff.

It allows Alexander Isak the chance to break clear, but the Owls defender gets back to make amends.

The closest Newcastle have come to scoring.

Jacob Murphy latches on to a magnificent pass from Matt Ritchie, goalkeeper Cameron Dawson is way off his line and the Newcastle man scoops an effort over him, but the ball is hacked clear.

West Ham centre-forward Michail Antonio has been quiet and he tries to head goalwards for the visitors but, under pressure and with the ball behind him, can only send it well over the crossbar.

Sheffield Wednesday aren't overawed here, skipper Liam Palmer chases a lost cause and manages to hook the ball back into play, but Martin Dubravka is out to grab it.

Will Vaulks goes up for a header and the ball drops down onto his hand, the referee awards a free-kick right on the edge of the box for Newcastle.

But Alexander Isak's effort is desperately poor, scuffed into the ground.

It's been a much improved second half and Emerson's free-kick from deep finds Craig Dawson on the full stretch at the back post, but the West Ham defender can't get enough on the shot to divert it anywhere near the goal.

10 minutes to have half-time, League One Sheffield Wednesday have more than held their own against Premier League high flyers Newcastle so far.

Brentford's Keane Lewis-Potter shows some positive intent by driving into the penalty area, but the cross doesn't match the run and it's safely gathered by Lukasz Fabianski.

At the other end, Tomas Soucek has a glorious chance for West Ham. He is found unmarked six yards out from Emerson's cross, Soucek is in a central position but can only send his shot wide. You just have to hit the target from there.
