The ball was never level enough for Ramsdale to get both hands on it and get a solid catch on the ball. He was always stretching too far out with his left hand.

The punch would have been the better option. Even if it went to the 18-yard line, it would have been further away than dropping eight yards out.

Big Wout Weghorst has not had much of a sniff so far. This would have the opening but Scott McTominay's pass towards him in the box is played behind the striker.

    Chance lost.

It might not be much consolation to Bukayo Saka after seeing United swiftly equalise, but he's in legendary company in this fixture thanks to that goal.

  7. 'Clever reaction header from Martinez'published at 17:49 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2023

Just after we praised Ramsdale, he comes for a ball and he just doesn't get there through all the bodies. He tries to catch it; perhaps that is the wrong option.

He parries it straight down and that is a really brave header. Martinez really does head the ball upwards. Clever header - a reaction one, but he knew what he was doing. He gets it spot on.

    Lisandro Martinez

    ALL SQUARE!

It has to go down as a mistake from Aaron Ramsdale, flapping at a corner.

It drops for little Lisandro Martinez, bandaged up but stooping to loop a headed finish into the net.

Gabriel does his best to keep it out, but can only head it into the roof of the net and Martinez wheels off to celebrate in front of the travelling supporters.

MattY AFC: Bukayo Saka can do everything in football. The quality of finishing he's added over the last season and a half is outstanding.

Bek: Bukayo Saka!!! Superstar!!! Add his name to the list of Arsenal greats!!

First Marcus Rashford and now Bukayo Saka with a piece of individual brilliance. He has been outstanding all game for me. The confidence, the quality. You know a player is in great form when they always have time on the ball.

He manoeuvres himself brilliantly. Classic Saka from the side. I'm not even sure if that shot is on but he hits it with precision and it skips off the wet turf into the bottom corner. Smashed across the face of De Gea.

Seth: That second goal all started with Eriksen giving the ball away but De Gea shouldn't be beaten that easily. Poor goal to concede.

United go to the other end and almost level immediately.

Marcus Rashford manages to somehow squirm clear and smack a shot goalwards, but Aaron Ramsdale is equal to it with a superb, instinctive save low down.

    Bukayo Saka

    What a beautyyyy!

You have to say, it was coming.

There looks to be no danger when Bukayo Saka has the ball out wide, but Christian Eriksen stands off - fatal error.

Saka shifts it, then pings a glorious low finish which nestles into the far corner of the net, David de Gea at full stretch was nowhere near it.

That's why they are top of the table, Arsenal showcasing their serious title credentials here.

    Lisandro Martinez just loves defending.

It's a throughball created by the guile of Martin Odegaard towards Granit Xhaka, but the Argentine World Cup winner comes hurtling across to make an inch-perfect sliding challenge in the six-yard box.
