Right, remember when I was telling you that PSG blew a 2-0 lead against Lille and were then losing 3-2 before Kylian Mbappe's equaliser?

Well Lionel Messi has just scored a 95th-minute winner.

Leicester City boss Brendon Rodgers says he will not be "begging" James Maddison to remain at the club with the midfielder approaching the last year of his contract.

Maddison has been in fine form, and is reportedly attracting interest from clubs including Newcastle and Manchester City.

About the prospect of Maddison signing a new deal,Rodgers said: "It’d be great. He’s a top player in the league. He’s shown that in his time here gradually. You can see that development take place. We improve players and give them great conditions to work in. But I won’t be begging a player to stay.

"They get great support here and if they’ve been here, they understand what the club is about. Players' careers are short and they have to think about the future. I understand what they’re thinking.”

Leicester have avoided defeat in successive Premier League away games against Manchester United for the first time since 1977.

Manchester United have appointed a new director of football operations as David Harrison will join from Everton in March, taking over from Alan Dawson, who is leaving the club after 11 years.

Harrison will have responsibility for managing all football operations at Carrington for the men's, women's and academy teams with the role including administration, team travel and player support.

Harrison is from Bury and began work in the ticket office at Old Trafford before moving to Everton in 1995.

"I'm excited to be taking this role at time of such opportunity and promise for Manchester United," he said. "My focus is on helping create the best possible operating environment to support success on the pitch."

Doug: The Leicester game today is a real banana skin for United. Sandwiched between the Barca games and with the EFL Cup Final a week away, it’d be very easy to drop points against an in-form Leicester if their heads aren’t on it.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo has left, Manchester United would be top of the Premier League in points. How Erik ten Hag handled the Ronaldo situation was great, we're talking one of the best players in the world.

Like what happened with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, I really believe Manchester United have the right manager now.

Even if Marcus Rashford is in the form of his life, if he doesn't score they're still missing that world-class number nine finisher. They're definitely going to go for the Premier League again.

With Jamie Vardy, once that time comes and he does move on, it will be the end of that team, that squad of players who did the unthinkable of winning the Premier League title. It was insane to think what Leicester City did and he was a very big part in that.

I don't think Vardy is done yet but obviously it is winding down, it is getting to that point, injuries are starting to creep up on him. I hope he hangs around a little bit longer because I still think he has got a bit to offer.

It will be a sad day once he retires or leaves Leicester City.

When he hangs up his boots, he will sit back and really start to think about his accomplishments. That's when it starts to hit home about what you have accomplished in your career.

    Manchester United

Erik ten Hag says his players are relishing their hectic schedule.

Manchester United are eight points behind the league leaders, are halfway through a two-legged Europa League tie with Barcelona and have the Carabao Cup final with Newcastle next weekend.

"They like it," Ten Hag said. "They like to play big games and they know that as a team and as individuals you grow from such games.

"Today we are better players, a better team and that helps in our process. Always, we have to be better than the previous game and think about things game by game."

He is not, however, contemplating a challenge for United's first Premier League title since 2013.

"We don't think about that so far," he said. "What we have to do is to put us in April in the right position, so our thinking can only be on the next game."

PSG are now 21 minutes away from a fourth defeat in a row in all competitions. That hasn't happened since 2000.

They trail 3-2 to Lille now, having led 2-0.

The last time PSG lost a Ligue 1 home game after leading by two goals was against Montpellier in February 1996.

I keep on ruling Manchester United out of the title race - and I still think the title is Manchester City's by the way - but United keep finding a way of winning games, even when they are not at their best, which is a good habit to have.

We will have to see how Erik ten Hag's squad copes with the volume of matches they face while they are in the Europa League, and Thursday's game against Barcelona is obviously a big distraction for them.

Leicester got a great win over Tottenham last time out, and it's clear what an enormous difference it makes for them to have James Maddison fit again.

I reserve the right to change my prediction after the Barca game but at the moment United have the confidence and belief to carry them through tight games, which is what I think will happen here.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Former Leicester striker Matty Fryatt says Ricardo Pereira's return will have given the whole Foxes squad a lift.

The Portugal full-back came on towards the end of last weekend's 4-1 win over Tottenham for his first appearance of the season following an Achilles injury.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leicester's When You're Smiling podcast, Fryatt said: "He’s just a brilliant player isn’t he?

"What he brings to the attacking play, he is a modern full-back and they have missed that spark. At the same time you have to be careful with him. He’s been out for a long time so you’ve got to manage it and be sensible with it.

"It will be interesting to see if he will go back into that right-back position or a little bit higher and dovetail between Castagne and Tete maybe. It was fantastic to see [him return] and it capped off a great game.

"To be able to bring Ricardo on at the end, he got a great reception because fans obviously appreciate what a good player he is. Coming on for those last few minutes is another buzz.

"You’re looking at the squad now and there is a bit of cover. He adds a little bit more quality and it lifts everyone. It’s looking really good."

    He's on the bench today.

Manchester United Supporters' Trust statement: "There are questions about sporting integrity given the exceptionally close links between some bidders and the owners of other European clubs including PSG and Nice. There are also questions about whether any bids will also be based on high levels of debt.

"We also note the importance that any owner respects the rights of all people, particularly women and the LGBTQ+ community. Concerns have been raised by other fans groups which we fully support."

One of the UK's richest men, Jim Ratcliffe has built a multi-billion pound business by buying unloved assets. Now he wants to buy Manchester United.

The Ineos founder formally joined the process to buy the club in January, following confirmation from owners the Glazer family in November that they were considering selling as they "explore strategic alternatives".

The Glazers have been criticised for their perceived lack of investment in the club, which has struggled since Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and has not won a trophy since 2017.

Born the son of a joiner in Failsworth, in Greater Manchester, Ratcliffe is a boyhood United fan.

Known for his tough negotiating stance, he was once called Dr No by trade unions.

British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe and his petrochemicals firm Ineos have confirmed their bid for "majority ownership" of Manchester United.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, chairman of one of Qatar's biggest banks, has also tabled a bid.

The Glazer family are considering selling the club and a 'soft deadline' of Friday had been set for proposals.

Ineos said it wants to make the club a "beacon for a modern, progressive, fan-centred approach to ownership".

In a statement confirming its bid for the 20-time English champions, the company added: "We would see our role as the long-term custodians of Manchester United on behalf of the fans and the wider community.

"We are ambitious and highly competitive and would want to invest in Manchester United to make them the number one club in the world once again."

Manchester United are entering a pivotal period in their season, facing Leicester today as they aim to consolidate their place in the top four...and then look to have further ambitions?

A title challenge may just be out of reach at this stage, but there is a huge week coming up as they face Barcelona in the second leg of their Europa League play-off on Thursday before playing Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final three days later.

Manager Erik ten Hag says in his programme notes: "We are currently only team in Europe still involved in four competitions, that is an indication of our progress.

"But there is still a long way to go and we are only in the middle of February and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.

"We need to keep absolute focus to remain in a positive direction."
