That's the last night of Championship football before Christmas done then.

It will be Boxing Day when both sides return - and both are on the road.

Coventry face second-placed Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, while Albion go to Bristol City.

The three points have been gift wrapped in Sky Blue. And the evening ends on a bright happy note with a quick burst of Morecambe and Wise singing 'Bring Me Sunshine'.

It simply wouldn't be Christmas without them.

It was going to take one chance to win the game and fortunately for Coventry it was a penalty.

Viktor Gyokeres tucked it away well and there was no time for Albion to come back.

Now it's how Albion react to that defeat after their five-game winning run.

That's it. Coventry have won it.

They climb six places to eighth in the Championship table with their ninth win of the season - eight of which have come in their last 12 games.

And that's now 11 for the campaign for matchwinner Viktor Gyokeres.

Albion stay 16th, having seen their five-game winning run as they lose under Carlos Corberan for only the second time.

You could see it coming with the challenges that were coming in.

Viktor Gyokeres was inviting someone to put a challenge in to win a penalty and that's what happened.

A bit of light relief from a mini one-man pitch invasion. The culprit is thankfully led off, into safe custody.

It's still there to be won. You never know until the final whistle. You just have to keep plugging away.

Albion push a bit harder as John Swift gets more involved but again, nothing comes from it.

Two well marshalled defences on duty tonight.This has smelt like a 0-0 for most of the second half really.

Gus Hamer comes off.

Less than 10 minutes to go, plus what referee Keith Stroud might add on for any Albion timewasting.

Looks like a second successive home draw for the Sky Blues. But who knows?

A point might satisfy both sides, but if you're Coventry the last thing you want to do is lose it.

I think from the first moment, West Brom have come here to stifle Coventry and if they get something on the counter, they'll be absolutely delighted.
