The chance when they carved them open and Blaswich made the save from Gundogan, it was just lovely, clinical, slick passing. One and two touch, to the by-line, cut-back, bang, should be a goal and it was a great save.
There were passages like that and control. There was loads to admire. Not maybe enough goalscoring chances if you're going to really pull it apart, but [Guardiola will] love parts of that performance.

Leipzig boss Marco Rose to BT Sport on what he said at half-time: "We should start to play and fight. It was a really difficult first half, 26% possession isn't enough.
"We were too passive in every situation. They moved the ball and they moved us. We had no power.
"The second half was totally different. Better late than never."

Manchester City
Man City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to BT Sport: "They made a step forward and pressed higher and we had more problems to make the build-up. After the goal, we concede and we come back and played a good last 15-20 minutes. We had good chances in both halves and a good result and we go to decide it in Manchester.
"I am happy for the whole game, not just the first half. What do you expect? That we play a friendly game here? How many games have you seen from Leipzig? You expect us to come here and win 0-5? That is not a reality. This is a competition that in the group stage many important teams are out. It is difficult. We are a good team and we do many, many good things. We continued to do this. People expect us to come here and win 0-4, I am sorry we are not able to do this.
"I saw the team good, especially in the middle. I thought about Phil [Foden]. In the end, I decide to continue with what I have, especially the back four. Bernardo [Silva] was giving a lot of control in the middle.
"I didn't see it so I cannot talk, but I know what happens in these situations."

If you remember after all of the money that was spent in the January transfer window and Guillem Balague said on 5 Live 'we already have a European Super League and it's called the Premier League.'
And if you look at the favourites and people say Manchester City, you'd think on current for you'd say Napoli, you'd say Real Madrid, you'd say Bayern Munich as well. You can't disregard the quality of those sides.
And then I was thinking the way Liverpool lost last night and Tottenham and Chelsea last week. The last-16 was introduced in 2003/04 and only once, in 2013/14, that campaign, have the four English sides never won the first leg. Manchester City lost to Olympiacos, Arsenal lost to Bayern, City lost to Barcelona, Chelsea drew with Galatasaray. On that occasion United and Chelsea progressed and at the minute you'd say Tottenham can beat Milan, you'd have to question whether Chelsea can beat Dortmund. Liverpool have got it all to do and you'd say City should be favourites to see off Leipzig at home.
FT: Inter Milan 1-0 Porto
No player has made more saves in this season's Champions League than the 33 from Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana, including four today.
Only Club Bruges' Simon Mignolet has bettered the Inter goalkeeper's four clean sheets this season.

You can't say he doesn't do his job when you look at the numbers. I know he didn't score tonight, but that's his role, that's how they play. His manager seems happy with it and he seems happy that he's scoring loads of goals and going to be breaking records in terms of that. How can you look at Man City and say that they're not successful at the moment, with the amount of goals that they're scoring?

Paul: Man City aren’t boring. But they aren’t exactly lethal either. 62% possession but only 3 on targets Leipzig had one more than that on target with less possession. Possession means nothing if you aren’t doing much with it. Man City are often good to watch but they are nowhere near prime Barcelona with Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and co.

I think for all of City's possession in the first half, how many times did they really make the keeper make a save?
Especially second half for Leipzig, I think their set-pieces were really, really good in terms of their runners, their delivery. They seemed to create better chances and Ederson made a couple of really good saves.
Conceding a goal from a set-piece, I'm sure the boys will be very disappointed, but I think all in all, first half was probably City's, second half was probably Leipzig's.

Tonight, Manchester City became the first team to make no substitutions in a Champions League knockout stage game since Barcelona in a 2-0 last 16 first leg win at Arsenal on 23 February 2016.

When we were speaking at half-time I think all of us were surprised at the amount of control Man City had. Leipzig didn't have any chances. But when you are playing in these games you know the teams are all capable of something.

I think [Guardiola will] be pretty happy overall to come away with a 1-1 and have a good chance of putting Manchester City into the next round.

Andy: Once again where is VAR. Haven't seen a more blatant handball! Two handed punch.
Nigel: Half-hearted appeals for handball? You’re having a laugh. Defender punched the ball with two hands! If that isn’t handball, I give up!
FT: RB Leipzig 1-1 Man City
Interestingly, BT have just shown a replay of that handball shout at the end of the game.
It looks very handbally! The ball is sent in the direction of the home goal and Benjamin Henrichs looks to push his palms out to save it.
Presumably, VAR had a look at it?
FT: RB Leipzig 1-1 Man City
Pep Guardiola has just met his players on the pitch to give them a bit of a debrief. He looks pretty animated but not angry. He'll back his side to get the job done back at the Etihad.
Inter Milan 1-0 Porto
It's all over.
Romelu Lukaku's 10th goal in his last 15 Champions League appearances gives Inter Milan the edge over Porto.
RB Leipzig 1-1 Man City
Very much a game of two halves!
City bossed the first and led at the break, but Leipzig came out swinging in the second and could have won it themselves.
RB Leipzig 1-1 Man City
City take the corner short before Riyad Mahrez curls a delivery to the back post, but despite a header to send the ball towards goal it makes for an easy save.
There are half-hearted shouts for handball but the official isn't interested.
That'll be that.
RB Leipzig 1-1 Man City
Thirty seconds left and City have a corner.
RB Leipzig 1-1 Man City
Looks like we're going to be heading to Manchester all square.
Leipzig have shown enough in this second half to demonstrate they will be a threat in that second leg.
