If Blackstenius ever had any doubt over her position as number nine then those critics have been answered.

You can't say Arsenal don't deserve this. What a response.

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

Since Vivianne Miedema was ruled out on 19 December, no Arsenal player has scored more than once in the WSL.

That demonstrates the scoring issues Arsenal have had, so Stina Blackstenius finishing that so calmly will be a huge boost.

    Stina Blackstenius

    A deserved equaliser!

It's a bit of fortune for Arsenal as Frida Maanum's shot deflects to Blackstenius in the Chelsea area, however she keeps her calm and slots past Berger.

All square in what has been an absorbing game so far.

  4. 'Arsenal in the ascendancy'published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2023

Arsenal are playing some brilliant football. They are in the ascendancy.

  5. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

Arsenal have definitely been the better side since the goal, they've now forced three corners and are looking strong in midfield.

However that sleepy start has left them with it all to do. Chelsea can defend a bit deeper and use the pace and skill of James and Kerr to pick Arsenal off.

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Selhurst Park

Emma Hayes just got a little frustrated with the ease at which Arsenal were able to get into space on the left. They have, for the first tiime, asked questions of the Chelsea defence with a few corners but Ann-Katrin Berger dealt with them fairly comfortably.

Ian Wright is in the crowd today, watching former club Arsenal at the home of another of his old teams, Crystal Palace.

If you haven't seen it, check out his celebrations after Arsenal men came from behind to beat Bournemouth yesterday. Wonderful stuff.

Arsenal women need similar energy today.

  8. 'This is a problem'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2023

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

This is a problem with Arsenal, Guro Reiten has twice gone past Katie McCabe down the right-hand side.

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

Two corners in quick succession for Arsenal, the second of which is taken short, however both result in crosses straight into Ann-Katrin Berger's hands.

Arsenal need more ideas going forward.

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

Guro Reiten has Katie McCabe on toast so far.

She sends another wicked cross in towards Kerr, however this time her header is gathered in by Zinsberger.

  11. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

    So, how will Arsenal respond?

Caitlin Foord has a shot from 25 yards, blocked, no danger there.

They have reacted fairly well to going behind - they know they cannot afford to concede the next goal.

  12. 'Kerr always has the hunger'published at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2023

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

That is the difference between the two teams. One shot, one chance, one goal.

What a ball that is, just standing it up. Zinsberger can't get to it. Kerr is always going to have the hunger, desire and ability.

  13. Postpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2023

101 games for Chelsea, 82 goals.

I reiterate, Sam Kerr is a cheat code.

We think that took just one minute and 36 seconds for Sam Kerr to find the net...

The worst possible start for Arsenal. It was in front of their fans too! Kerr haunts them. You just knew she'd have something to say today.

  15. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

That was such a poor goal for Arsenal to concede. They had plenty of chances to clear, however McCabe and Blackstenius left a loose ball for each other and Chelsea were able to recycle it out to Reiten.

Question marks about Zinsberger too, who got caught under the cross somewhat, but a typically deadly finish by Kerr.

  16. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 0-1 Chelseapublished at 2 mins

    Sam Kerr

    What a start!

First serious attack of the game, Guro Reiten stands a cross to the far post to the left, and Sam Kerr powers in a close range header off the cross bar.

Nightmare for Arsenal, dreamland for Chelsea.

    Anita Asante
Former England defender on BBC One

It's going to be a very tight game. The key is managing the game correctly.

We've seen Arsenal have been wasteful in recent matches but Chelsea are just so ruthless, especially when Sam Kerr gets opportunities in front of goal.
