Man Utd 3-1 Reading
Manchester United
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to BBC Sport: "I think in the first hour we played really well. It was a really good performance and we were playing in the way I want, dominant and in the opponents half with good tempo and a lot of movement. We created many chances but we didn't score and it was the only thing missing at half time.
"They made it difficult, they are a decent team. They were compact but we still made a lot of chances. We scored and were unlucky as it was disallowed but then in the second half we scored the goals, great goals, the Brazilian connection.
"He [Casemiro] is really important with all his experience but he is such a smart player and intelligent. He knows the positions, how to deal with the ball and also he is creative as well and we are really happy with him. He is important for the improvement of the team.
"We want to win every game. We have a squad and we have to plan as well but there is a big responsibility for the players to be ready, be fit. It is about recovery, sleep and football."
Man Utd 3-1 Reading
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 15 home games in the FA Cup (W13 D2) since a 2-1 defeat by Arsenal in 2015.
Man Utd 3-1 Reading
Reading Football Club
Reading manager Paul Ince to ITV: "You've got to have a plan. You know when you come to Old Trafford you need to ride your luck. You've got to ride your luck to get anything from this game. To go in at 0-0 gave us a chance. But we gave them a goal, poor marking to Casemiro and it's a wonderful goal."
On Andy Carroll's red card: "If you look at the first one, it wasn't actually a foul, the linesman hasn't flagged, the players are walking away and the ref can't wait to get his card out.
"Once you've been booked you can't make those challenges but the ref can't wait to get his card out. It's poor."
On his return to Old Trafford: "It's been a long time to come back here but it wasn't about the reaction, it's about our fans who travelled here.
"I hope our fans are proud of that."

Reading Football Club
Reading boss Paul Ince to BBC Sport: "I'm very proud of the players. As a player here for six years I know how tough it is to come here and play in front of their fans on full song. It was great to score a goal.
"It was about making our fans proud. We thought they were going to play a weakened side. When we saw their team we thought oh oh. We should have scored in the first half. We have a tough one at home against Watford. We want to stay in the league.
"At times we were probably better with 10 men when we released the shackles. We gave the fans something not to be embarrassed of.
"When you come to Old Trafford you want to play against the best players. The fact Ten Hag played his best XI shows the respect he has for me, the club and the players.
"They’ve held their own against a very good Manchester United side.
"When you play against big teams you know you’ll need a lot of luck. Your keeper has to be outstanding and nick one or two moments. We rode our luck. It's the first time I’ve managed under VAR, I was quite relieved. We fall asleep, we let Casemiro run through. Poor marking and then they’re in the ascendancy."

Manchester United
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag: "The first 60 minutes was really good. We totally dominated. We were composed with good moments. In the first half we had some good opportunities. I don't know why the [Marcus Rashford] goal was disallowed."
On Casemiro: "We know he's a great player. In Madrid's midfield with Kroos and Modric it was great. I think he's capable, you see offensively he has a part and he enjoys it. What I like is dynamic football with variations, many position switches."
On Antony: "I think he's growing. We want him to be more dynamic, variable and direct. Today was a lovely pass for the first goal.
"We are happy with his improvement in this moment. There's big potential in him and he has to develop it every day.
"We are here for trophies but we have a long way to go. We're building."
Man Utd 3-1 Reading
Casemiro has been in involved in nine goals this season for United (28 games - four goals, five assists), more than twice as many as he managed in 48 games for Real Madrid last season (one goal, three assists).
The Brazilian scored two goals in a club match for the first time since January 2020 for Real Madrid against Sevilla.
Man Utd 3-1 Reading
Manchester United have progressed from 10 of their 11 FA Cup ties against Reading, only failing in the third round in 1926-27.
We all missed a good game in the Dutch Eredivisie this evening.
Man Utd 3-1 Reading
Manchester United
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire: "We had numerous chances. We spoke at half-time about having patience and we'll get the first goal."
On Casemiro: "He's done what he was brought in to do, He's a phenomenal player. You don't win what he's won without being a top player.
"He's improved the team, the morale and the performance."
On not playing regularly: "I've looked after myself. It was two and a half weeks since my last start. I've been working hard in training. When I get the opportunity I need to take it. I'm ready when my chance comes.
"I'm 29 and I haven't really been in this position in my career. I don't want to get used to it but it's part and parcel of football."
Probably because Reading aren't our rivals.
