Liverpool just need that first goal, that will change everything in this game.

They need to find a way to put pressure on Real Madrid and make it uncomfortable for them.

HT: Real Madrid 0-0 Liverpool (agg: 5-2)

Liverpool need to go for this now. That means spaces are going to open up and Real Madrid can take advantage.

An early goal would give Liverpool a boost. That Jurgen Klopp half-time team talk needs to be a good one.

He doesn't have many attacking options on the bench. Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott are among them though.

  13. 'Liverpool seem to lack intensity'published at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2023

Liverpool had chances in the first-half but so did Real Madrid who had the better of them.

Just looking at the Liverpool players' body language, they seem to lack the intensity needed.

It's just a little flat at the moment from Jurgen Klopp's side.

Darwin Nunez has got to do better with the chance he has. If he goes back across the goalkeeper he has a better chance of scoring.

Real Madrid have had their chances, Alisson made a great save tipping it onto the bar.

It has been a game we expected, Madrid having lots of the ball but when Liverpool have it, they have to try and cause some more problems.

  20. 'Stark contrast in midfields'published at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2023

Real Madrid 0-0 Liverpool (agg: 5-2)

    Chris Sutton
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

The contrast of the midfields is stark. Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Toni Kroos have been so composed.

Take Cody Gakpo out of the equation, who has been asked to play a bit deeper and has been decent on the ball. James Milner and Fabinho have been poor in their distribution.
