  6. 'We were not our normal selves'published at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

FT: Bristol City 3-0 West Brom

Baggies boss Carlos Corberan told BBC WM 95.6: "We made more technical mistakes today than in other games and we suffered a lot of counter-attacks. I didn't see the mentality of my team out on the pitch today.

"It's a disappointing feeling to have lost tonight and to not keep going in the competition, which was of course the target that we had. We lost the ball more today in the middle of the pitch than normal and that gives the advantage to the opponent to attack you.

"We didn't manage the game well tactically but also when it came to the last pass, the last cross, the last part of the attack, we did not do it with the normal accuracy."

Benjamin Whiteman has a good Preston chance. He's picked out 20 yards out, cuts the ball onto his left foot and tries to curl it into the far corner. He doesn't get enough curl onto it though.

It was poorly played from Spurs but Cannon was expecting a touch and he dives.

The ref got that one right.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 61 mins

    Preston 0-1 Spurs

Preston's Thomas Cannon tries to win a penalty - but gets booked for diving instead.

He tries to cut back in the box and I think he's expecting Japhet Tanganga to lunge in so throws himself to the ground. Sadly for him the defender didn't make any such move so it was a clear dive.

Robbie Brady's corner is poor and headed away by Japhet Tanganga at the near post.
