  1. goal

GOAL Sheff Wed 0-1 Fleetwoodpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Promise Omochere

The answer is NOT AT ALL!

Danny Andrew delivers a peach of a cross from the left and Promise Omochere is all alone to dive and head it in from six yards.

Omochere got the winner in the last round at home to QPR, and he is delivering again in the FA Cup.

It's only two League One sides, but Fleetwood are beating Sheffield Wednesday!

Sékou Mara needs to keep the ball better. He is making it too easy for the defenders.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Fleetwood

    Big, big chance for Fleetwood.

Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu is unmarked to meet a free-kick six yards out but heads over and into the travelling Cod Army.

    How costly could that be?

    Fulham 0-1 Sunderland

Are these missed chances going to cost Sunderland?

It's Patrick Roberts and Amad Diallo combining again before the latter's shot is blocked at the near post.

    Blackburn 2-1 Birmingham

Almost an instant leveller for the visitors as Tatith Chong bursts into the box and the ball sits up for him nicely, but his effort is straight at Thomas Kamisnski, who punches it away.

  6. Postpublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Southampton 1-0 Blackpool

Encouraging signs for Blackpool. The Championship strugglers have started the second half on the front foot and Southampton have work to do.

    Fulham 0-1 Sunderland

Chances at both ends at the Cottage.

First Abdoullah Ba scuffs his effort for Sunderland before Harry Wilson's effort forces Anthony Patterson intro a flying save.

  8. goal

GOAL: Luton 1-1 Grimsbypublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Elijah Adebayo (49 mins)

The coolest penalty you are likely to see, despite the circumstances, has levelled the scores after a clumsy challenge in the box from Bryn Morris.

It's a seventh goal of the season from Elijah Adebayo who holds his nerve until the keeper dives and rolls it in the opposite direction. Game on.

  9. Postpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Fulham 0-1 Sunderland

As it stands a Sunderland win at Fulham would be the shock of the day. The Cottagers certainly had good chances in the first half and they have started the second on the front foot.

Sunderland centre-back Dan Ballard does well to recover to thwart a dangerous attack.

  10. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 3-0 West Brompublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Sam Bell

It's now two brilliant goals for Sam Bell. The youngster shows incredible class to bring down a cross and in one fluid movement dink a sumptuous finish past David Button with his next touch.

He's on for a hat-trick on his first start as a forward.

    Magic of the cup...

  11. goal

GOAL Blackburn 2-1 Birminghampublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Joe Rankin-Costello

Rovers in front right at the start of the second half!

Poor play from Blues and Krystian Bielik in particular as they dwell on the ball near their own box and Joe Rankin-Costello punishes them as he finds the bottom corner with a daisycutter beyond Neil Etheridge.

A first goal since August 2020 for the defender. A collector's item!

A half-time change for the hosts as Tyrhys Dolan is thrown on in place of Ryan Hedges.

New loan signing Sorba Thomas was also introduced to the Ewood Park crowd during the break. He's ineligible for this one after playing for Huddersfield in the last round.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Bristol City 2-0 West Brom

Sam Bell, in for departed striker Antoine Semenyo, curled home superbly to break the deadlock after some hesitant Baggies defending.

Then Okay Yokuslo missed a header for the visitors moments before Alex Scott doubled the advantage with a close range finish after Nakhi Wells had send Mark Sykes through to cross into the centre.

Max O’Leary kept out Daryl Dike before the break and Carlos Corberan has his work cut out in the next 15 minutes if Albion are to prevent the Robins claiming a third last-16 place in five seasons.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Luton 0-1 Grimsby

The Hatters have pinned the visitors back for long periods of this first half and dangerman Elijah Adebyao fizzed one effort over and saw another thwarted by a superb block from Luke Waterfall while Dan Potts saw a header chalked-off by the flag.

Grimsby keeper Max Crocombe was called into action on several occasions while at the other end his counterpart Ethan Horvath denied Bryn Morris on a rare foray forward from the visitors before Gavan Holohan lit the touchpaper with a far-post header to put the visitors ahead at the break.

Grimsby are 57 places below Luton in the football ladder and haven't been in the last-16 since 1996. This is what the FA Cup is all about, right?
