    Shrewsbury celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Perhaps no fairytale start for Duncan Ferguson.

Rekeil Pike draws Shrewsbury level with Big Dunc's Forest Green in the fourth minute of stoppage-time.

And then nine minutes into stoppage-time, heartbreak as Ryan Bowman snatches an incredible winner for the Shrews.

    Welcome to management!

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

The Boro bandwagon hit a little hump last weekend at Sunderland but it's rolling again now.

Michael Carrick's side move up to third in the Championship, above today's opponents Watford.

Chuba Akpom and Marcus Forss were the scorers.

Portsmouth have the ball in the net and this time it counts.

Nathan Thompson's own goal has pulled them back to 2-1 at Peterborough, but can they find a late leveller?

It goes from bad worse to Bristol Rovers who have gone 5-1 down at Morecambe.

  12. Postpublished at 16:50 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Coventry 2-0 Huddersfield

Matty Godden, on his first appearance for Coventry since October, goes close to a third goal but Huddersfield goalkeeper Nicholas Bilokapic denies him.

  13. League Two latestpublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

Leaders Leyton Orient's hope of pulling further clear of cup-tied Stevenage have taken a blow as they have fallen behind at Tranmere through an Omar Beckles own goal.

It's all happening at the County Ground where Charlie Austin's second has pulled Swindon level at 3-3 with Gillingham, having trailed 3-1.

But moments later, the Robins are down to 10 men after Saidou Khan is shown his second yellow card of the afternoon. Tasty.

We'll level with you. Looking unlikely.

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Watford

Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough are about to go third in the Championship, providing they don't collapse in the closing minutes - and that doesn't look like happening right now.

They'll be 12 points behind second-placed Sheffield United and while a push for the top two might be beyond them, if they keep this form up they're sure to be one of the main contenders for play-off glory in May.

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho is cutting a frustrated figure.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild looks to have halved the deficit at Peterborough, but it's disallowed after a lengthy discussion with the linesman.

    Posh remain 2-0 up.

Elsewhere, Forest Green are still holding on to that 1-0 lead in Duncan Ferguson's first game in charge.

    Hull 3-0 QPR

The scoreline represents another disappointing day for QPR but one positive is the return of midfielder Stefan Johansen, who is off the bench for the closing stages at Hull.

Johansen hasn't featured since October because of a heel injury.

Chances for all three trailing sides in the Championship since the last update, but at the moment it looks like being three home wins with 10-15 minutes remaining in those games.

Middlesbrough are pushing for a third goal against Watford, with handball appeals for a penalty waved away and Paddy McNair going close.
