    FT: Blackpool 2-2 Huddersfield

Not quite the glorious start for Mick McCarthy in his first home game in charge of Blackpool.

But he avoids a second league defeat and his side are now two points from safety with a game in hand on Cardiff.

    They host Rotherham on Saturday.

Huddersfield miss the chance to climb out of the bottom three.

They stay a point inside the relegation zone with a trip to bottom-of-the-table Wigan to come in four days time.

It's all over in our three games in League One and League Two.

Accrington, who finished the game with 10 men, hung on to claim a point from a 1-1 draw at Port Vale - but that's not enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

In League Two, Leyton Orient have gone seven points clear at the top if the table after a 2-0 win at Crewe, while Doncaster beat Tranmere 2-0 to close to within two points of a play-off spot.

    FT: Blackpool 2-2 Huddersfield

A game that looked like petering out for a Huddersfield victory suddenly became a thriller in the closing stages.

The Terriers led through Matty Pearson's first-half goal and the advantage was franked with Gary Madine's red card for Blackpool in stoppage time.

The visitors looked more likely for a second goal but Blackpool found an equaliser through Andy Lyons.

Josh Koromo's superb right-foot curler saw Huddersfield retake the lead four minutes late but in the final minute of the 90, substitute Josh Bowler levelled again.

Huddersfield should have won that. It was attrocious defending for the second Blackpool goal that cost them.

They had to stop Blackpool coming forward like they were, it just wasn't good enough.

Mark Fotheringham put enough attacking players on the pitch but the defenders on that right hand side have to take a look at themselves.

No real chances in stoppage time and the points are shared.

What a remarkable final 10 minutes!

    Any more drama?

Horrendous defending from Town. It was tippy, tappy and Blackpool walk it through to the 18 yard box.

Blackpool deserve their goal. In a game of this importance, it's horrendous.

  9. goal

GOAL: Blackpool 2-2 Huddersfieldpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2023

    Josh Bowler (90 mins)

Oh my days Blackpool level again!

Somehow, despite the presence of four defenders, Blackpool work it down the left and a cross to the near post isn't dealt with.

The loose ball is pounced on by Josh Bowler and he slams it high into the net with his left boot from the edge of the six-yard box.

That is a massive goal. It's a great finish from Josh Koroma, the goalkeeper had no chance.

  11. goal

GOAL: Blackpool 1-2 Huddersfieldpublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2023

    Josh Koroma (86 mins)

    Huddersfield back in front!

A ball from the right finds its way to Josh Koroma on the left-hand side of the area.

He cuts in on his right boot just inside the box and curls a beauty beyond the goalkeeper diving full-length to his left.

It's an absolute disaster, and not just because Blackpool are down to 10 men, they've lost key men at the front and back.

Town didn't do enough. This is a big 10 minutes for Town - they should be out of sight.

    Andy Lyons (82 mins)

Out of nothing Blackpool are level!

A low cross from the right is only cleared as far as the top of the area, Andy Lyons runs onto it and gets a sweet strike away with the outside of his right boot and finds the bottom-left corner!

  14. League One updatepublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2023

It's all going on in the Potteries, where Port Vale probably think they should be in front.

Accrington's Harvey Rodgers handles on his own line to clear Ben Garrity's goalbound header and Nathan Smith tucks the ball home - but not before the referee blew his whistle to award the penalty and show Rodgers the red card.

Daniel Butterworth takes the spot-kick but sees his effort saved by Lukas Jensen. After all that it's still 1-1!

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2023

    Blackpool 0-1 Huddersfield

Josh Bowler sent on by Mick McCarthy as Blackpool chase a late equaliser.

10 minutes to rescue their night.

Bowler almost with an immediate impact as he drives forward and tries to slot in Jerry Yates but the pass is overhit.

  16. Save!published at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2023

    Blackpool 0-1 Huddersfield

Another nearly-moment as Huddersfield try to seal the points.

Martyn Waghorn with the chance and another save from Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Maxwell.

There's nervousness from both sets of fans. Town fans are looking at their phones, not knowing whether to burst into a song or wait until something else happens.

Into the final 20 minutes at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool a man down remember after Gary Madine's first-half red card.

A very nervy moment for the hosts as Jack Rudoni's cross takes a deflection and snakes across the face of the Blackpool goal but evades everyone.

Double change here for the visitors as they try to protect this lead.

Scott High and Ollie Turton are off, Brahima Diarra and Jaheim Headley replace them.

And straight away Headley forces a good save from Chris Maxwell.
