That's it for our coverage of tonight's EFL action on Valentine's Day - thanks for joining us.

Burnley broke Watford hearts at the death to move 18 points clear of the play-off places and keep up the momentum in their march back to the Premier League.

It was a case of the ex at Loftus Road, as former QPR loanee Jack Clarke scored a late double for Sunderland in their 3-0 triumph.

As a result, will Rangers be considering a quick separation with boss Neil Critchley?

Meanwhile, after a bumpy start to life together together, Sabri Lamouchi has his first win as Cardiff boss.

If Cupid didn't deliver what you wanted this 14 February, there's six more Championship games to come tomorrow. Do join us then.

  2. Warnock is (almost) backpublished at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2023

Wed: Stoke City v Huddersfield Town (19:45 GMT)

So far this week, one story in the EFL has trumped all others.

That is the return of Neil Warnock to management at the age of 74 after he signed up for a second spell in charge of Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town.

Warnock, who announced his retirement from management last year, won't be in charge for their trip to fellow strugglers Stoke tomorrow, as he is away in America.

His first game in the dugout at home against Birmingham on Saturday and defender Tom Lees said the veteran has the experience to lead the Terriers away from danger.

New boss Neil Warnock has the attributes and know-how to improve Huddersfield Town's fortunes, says defender Tom Lees.

    Burnley 1-1 Watford

Burnley's bid for a club record 11th successive league win is thwarted but that barely tells the story at all.

Burnley huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser and it looked like their unbeaten home record was coming to an end until sub Michael Obafemi scrambled in from close range from a 95th minute corner.

The league leaders now 18 points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough.
