    West Brom 0-0 Blackburn

A scare for Joshua Griffiths on his debut in the West Brom goal.

The 21-year-old drops a corner inside his own six-yard box but the ball is hacked clear before anyone from a Rovers shirt can react and stick out a boot.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Middlesbrough

I hoped this one would be a cracker and it's really not let me down so far.

A draw would not be a bad result for the home side at all really as it would keep them 10 points clear of third-placed Boro.

Long, long way to go though and with these attacking players on show I'd be surprised if we don't have more goals.

Oli McBurnie sees a shot dip just past the post as the home side look to re-take the lead.

What a team goal that is, it's beautiful play. It's nothing more than Middlesbrough deserve.

The early goal was a sickener but Boro have built into this game.

It's a terrific game, it's end-to-end stuff, both teams are having a go.

    All-square!

Oh, this is such a lovely goal!

Middlesbrough keep the ball ever so well and move it from their left over to the right.

The ball is played into the feet of Chuba Akpom in the area by Marcus Forss and the in-form striker moves it on to his right foot and thumps a crisp right foot shot into the far corner.

    A beauty.

    Game on!

Bristol City take the lead at home against struggling Wigan.

Anis Mehmeti chips a cross in from the left hand side of the box and unmarked defender Rob Atkinson heads in from inside the six-yard box.

The Robins could make it four wins in five and extend their unbeaten run to seven games.

    What response do Wigan have?

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

Middlesbrough have got back into the groove, they're playing some decent football and they've started to create a couple of chances.

The game doesn't have the same feel as last year when Sheffield United were just too good.

Best chance of the evening for the away side.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2023

    West Brom 0-0 Blackburn

Baggies debutant goalkeeper Joshua Griffiths is called into action very early on.

Ben Brereton Diaz fires at goal following a one-two with Harry Pickering, but Griffiths denies the Chile forward.

That'll be a confidence booster for him.

Brereton Diaz is making the 200th league appearance of his career.

He's two shy of 50 goals in the EFL and looking to add to make it double figures in the Championship this season.

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

It's a poor goal. It's a free header from Oli McBurnie. It's a nothing header and it falls into the bottom corner.

We said Boro needed to keep Sheffied United quiet in the first 10-15 minutes and play on the front foot, but it's the Blades who are on the front foot and they have that early goal.

    WHAT A START!

    Dear me.

Jack Robinson absolutely LAUNCHES a long throw into the Boro area and Oli McBurnie is too strong for his marker as he heads in.

    Poor from the visitors.

The Blades going 13 points clear of Boro as it stands.
